The pictures are really awesome.
Sometimes pictures look underexposed in Auto mode, but once you go manual, and there's nothing that the phone can't shoot in Tremendous detail.
I never used the 1020, but the 808 was simply marvelous. Nothing beats that, That's why i don't care of DXOMark ratings.
But current nokia camera's don't shoot that good, let's wait and see how the new Nokia App does on the Old Nokia 8.
We also have to see how good are New Nokia 7+/8Sirocco since they both have same cameras.
HMD don't have old Nokia's imaging team, so i believe it is taking time for them to fine tune the camera.

So DXO mark is just a fake company who wants fake bokeh and fake results for money, splendid!!!! :) And you were telling that the pixel 2 XL has lesser detail then the Lumia 1020??? Your point are nearly correct, just that the pixel 2 XL has F=1.7 and Lumia 1020 has F=2.4 which makes the Pixel 2 XL slightly better in low light shot than the 1020.
None other that,still the Lumia 1020 beats the pixel 2 XL in terms of that 41mp, Zeiss optic sensor and Pure view lens, that's all. Now I just want the Nokia 8 pro/ 9/ 10, whatever you can call it, to surpass it's predessecor with it's Penta lens set-up and more!!!!

They value fake bokeh there. In terms of pure picture quality, nothing put on mobile phone can beat 808 until nowadays. No, not even Pixels, because of low resolution and lack of detail.

This years phone cameras get some love. Flagships are great but premium flagships are better. Shame it won't come cheap, wonder what will be top price, 1500€ or more?

No matter what app you use, it won't let you shutter more than 6 seconds. Bye bye milky-way pictures. Great star trail and tail lights aren't an option. And why do you think that Nokia 8 scores so extremely low on camera quality? Because Nokia has limited the Carl zeiss optics too much.

Sigh, see the camera performance were the best in reviews, history in the making and people opinions, but in DXO mark, it's classified as one of the worst scoring at 61%. Yet, the Nokia 8 (2017) did out performed the 2 Lumia phones despite lacking of Pure view.
Wait for Nokia 8 pro/ 9/ 10 just call it whatever you want. Their camera may be a huge game changer to the rest of their Lumia phone and N-series phones. You, we and I not know, but it's Nokia themselves to settle.

Nokia are certainly storming back. Such a big range of phones in a short space of time. But what about an update to the Nokia 5 for 2018? Or is this going to miss a year?

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2018Unless it's an upgrade to the 1020 or 808 it won't be "best". I really hope and wish though!!!Well as per rumors there will be two phones first the Penta lens Nokia 8 pro and another phone whose camera setup will be even better than the 8 pro.
