I'll pass, thank you.P10 remains on 7.0, with 8.0 being in public beta channel, with Google Security patch (on mine) labeled January 2018...considering you're paying for a flagship-level phone (at the time) at half the price, I think its exactly what its supposed to be.
I'll be skipping P11/P20 for sure since I got mine last year, but so far, unless I see any real problems (faulty hardware and warranty issues, or refusal to update for 18 months), I will be considering Huawei for my next phone aswell.

Was on offer in tge summer for £400 though but it was still too much for phone in my opinion. Had a Sony Z3 compact before.

The Mate 10 Pro is currently selling for around £530 in the UK which offers the 970 & looks good, why would you pay best part of £800 for something with the same processor and a ugly design based on the iPhone X?
Good thing is the price of the P20 & P20 Pro will drop like a stone within a few months of being on the market in the UK as they won't sell, still because of the notch i won't buy one i'll stick with my P10 until something that looks decent and cheap comes along.
Putting a notch on top while retaining some bezel at the bottom makes it doubly ugly.

No information about the downgrade on the camera? From 12mp to 16mp but 1.6 aperture to 1.8? Ip68 water resistance? Edged screen or flat screen? Under screen fast finger print, or still the super fast back mount?

Wide notch on display is no... moreoh so now the iphone x notch is called a distorted notch, is this a sign the android users are embracing the notch, now to distinguish between notch, the ipx notch is now labeled distorted.
nobody is touching the bottom part of the phone, most people hold it on its side, heck nobody even complained the s8 and s9 where you can trigger the sides on the display.
