Why should transform a smartphone into a on-screen keyboard? The hardware keyboard has the better haptic.

Now will everybody copy razer project Linda.
Great job. Instead of bringing own tech and new toys things you just copy others.

Tim is scared now, 07 Mar 2018This is a good push now. Especially phones are getting better and better, casual apps no longe... moreAre you for real? Afraid of a useless gimmick like this? The only incredible thing about this is that people think its good, this is just Android developers throwing sht on the wall once again. Lets have a look at what new features people still use after 4 weeks of buying, things that work so well that people will keep it, that list will see a total iOS domination. Then i make a lit over Android/samsung features i still used after 4-5 weeks after buying flagship phones.
Start list:
End List.
Yep, thats all, stay awake while looking, autopause video when looking away, and so on and on, all useless and today hardcore android users openly admit that they were all failures. Just like the "use as keyboard" lol so bad "features". Its ok to be embarassed over these things, you have all the reasons to be.

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2018without google, samsung is just a flappy phone. It was samsung that actually did the heavy lifting during the early days of Android.

Galaxy S2 already had multiwindow. Took Google till MM to implement and Nougat to make work properly.

Yes you are missing a big thing. In 'Unified Remote' you also need to install the PC client but adding dedicated Bluetooth API for Keyboard and Mouse will eliminate any need for external software.

i already done this since Jelly Bean days via app called Monect PC Remote. the apps allowed us to make our smartphone as keyboard, trackpad, even a gyroscope joystick for a racing games. it connect via bluetooth or wifi. it's nice if it's implemented as native features, but Google is too late imo. anyway better than never

This is a good push now. Especially phones are getting better and better, casual apps no longer require the compute power. Next focus is to create more professional apps that only exist on x86 systems..

Possible in the future to see thunderbolt enabled smartphones. That can attach to a display / laptop with external graphics / harddisk. If they make the docking and undocking fast and easy.. this could spell death to Microsoft Windows, Desktop class cpu, Laptops, tablets.. etc etc.. We might even see photoshop, steam, coming to android os.

And yeah.. iOS will copy to stay alive, and Tim will be very very scared by then.

Marvin, 06 Mar 2018With the new DEX Samy can do if it wants a whole lot of stuff in the mobile phone/PC conversio... moreit's not about the new dex. the hardware on dex only push the amount of display resolution limit and it's refresh rate, also the proper cooling to help it's hardware push to it's maximum limit. features like this can easily be applied on current hardware.
