looks like some sam-fan tries to explain it's not that big deal not to get latest android.
But a premium phone needs to be with latest OS right - otherwise why its premium?
And Android OS is made by google not samsung - they make a skin on top of that (and they fail - see oreo s8) . Google makes a full os in a year and samsung makes a skin in 1 year ? Not acceptable.
Yeah we all know samsung software sucks - full of duplicate apps for no meaning.
Samsung should try to make a OS instead of tweaking a good OS - then people will understand how pathetic and incapable samsung is.
And they are ignorant too - they even did not push feb, march security patches to Note 8. Stop making nonsense comments and get any other device to realise that Android runs smoother if the device is not made by Samsung

I don't understand why people get mad over OS updates. If the OEM has already provided a feature-rich system then other than Security updates, OS updates are unnecessary. Stock Users might disagree because they are completely reliant on OS updates for new/better features (I used to have Nexus and motorola devices). Currently, I own S7 Edge and might upgrade to S9's. I already have features such as app badges (Oreo) or Better Screenshots (Android P) in my device which is on nougat.
This is not limited Samsung. Xiaomi is famous for no OS updates but latest MIUI even on older OS, has more features than latest stock.
Moreover these OEMs keep introducing more features with monthly updates.

Every year Samsung do the same things like when its new flagship phone is out with latest android version then they release update for older phones :(
I think my Note 8 will get android oreo when Note 9 will release :D

What's this to do with the fact that Samsung takes a year to update their phones?

And yes, there are bugs, including FCs and sometimes no voice recognition.

Samsung don't need to upgrade their phones. Their software is already pretty good, bug free and even samsung's jellybean has more features than stock android Oreo. I see no point to upgrade. Upgrades will only cost you data if you don't have wifi.
