People love to nitpick without even comprehending that the current note's ui is already better than oreo lol. Samsung experience has been ahead of google for some time now but stock android enthusiasts aren't productivity-oriented so they have little idea of the performance of the note8 outside the petty camera and smoothness criteria.

There is nothing wrong with the current Note8 UI.
It takes a while to complete a next iteration of Android, and majority don't even know what the new features are. All I want is to be able to minimize Netflix on a floating window while doing something.

So, Samsung will update their phones, even the expensive ones, to Oreo, when Google released Android P.
Great, paying a premium to be -1 behind. Don't see any bribed tech reviewers say anything about this fiasco. I understand for cheap Chinese phones to not get updates, but Samsung is not cheap. They made the most profit amongst all Android OEMs, yet they can get away with pathetic software support, even on their own flagships.
When will be the oreo update for Samsung J series??
Reading this on my 8.1.0 Pixel 2

Thats what you get for 1000 euros. 7 months after official release, note 8 might get oreo. So sad that Android 9 alpha has been released today.... Pure joke.
That moment when even Nokia 3 low-end got Oreo update (beta)
+ 3 months for third world countries. Great job sammy! I am a fan for more than 5 years but I really lost my hopes. Nougat on a5 2016 started in the beggining of May and got in my country at the end of july! That's a **** i don't like! Other than that, I agree!
Anonymous, 08 Mar 2018Flagship only late march...
What a lack of respect to the costumers. Yeah. How dare they give the mist advanced ui with more features. Too the point that they already have mist of the features everyone else is waiting for in those updates and more still.
But then also costs them more in time and money making the next updates. Especially when there are mite devices to release them for.
How terrible of them!!

Not even a full year late!
Way to go, Samsung!
who cares .. lol ... It feels as if these updates are useless on samsung phones which are already feature rich and in fact have more features than stock android ... I don't see any major change or any major feature ! ... android updates over last couple of iterations have been useless .. including the latest P preview.
AnonD-716057, 08 Mar 2018Meanwhile I got Android 8.1 on my Pixel 2 XL in... 2017. meanwhile most of your oreo features on your pixel were there in samsung since S5 .. lmao !!!
When was Oreo launched? Feels like so long ago. Which it is.
Hazelph, 08 Mar 2018Where's the Galaxy S6 edge???? :( I'm waiting for that update The s6 and s6 edge have had their two major software updates. They will no longer be getting android updates
What I don't get is that the s8 and s8 plus got Oreo before the galaxy note 8 when the note 8 is the most premium smartphone in the 8 series of phones
