Nothing offers the versatility and feature set of the S9, from the 3.5mm headphone jack, to the extremely versatile Bixby, to the advanced DeX experience. It may merely be an incremental update to the S8, but that was already far more versatile than what the other 3 even offer now...not that either of them are worthy replacement to my Note 8.

US wants to ban Chinese brand smartphones because they don't want to allow US spyware and backdoors into their phones.
And as if we have privacy when Apple, Google, Facebook and Microsoft are among the biggest data collectors, and most especially the US government are biggest spies and violators of privacy (*ehem* Snowden and WikiLeaks *ehem*) yeah right.

I also thought for once that it will be hard to not have a ... moreQuit lying to yourself man! I'm a Sony fan and user (XZP) but even I vot3for the s9. Why? Because of that horrible, horrible design the XZ2 has, it looks like it has a huge hump on the back. And for what? There's no significant battery in it and NO 3.5MM jack that could fit without a problem.
The gave us that silly vibration motor. WTF is the bs?

Both phones... morewell, i can agree with you, and to me the notch "horn" on zenfone 5 is well executed that apple most of the time
but, if zenfone don't shout AI on everything, it can be a good standing beside the s9
i think it so ridiculous when a company, as great as asus(computer wise that is) slapping AI on every possible thing it can when it's actually not

People are crazy at overreacting.
I also thought for once that it will be hard to not have a headphone jack. But I've seen my sister with her iPhone 7 Plus, and I don't find anything hard with using the Lightning EarPods.
The more OEMs ditching the jack, the faster and easier wireless earphones and headphones will spread and be made better.
Besides, there is a Y-dongle in the box that allows for 3.5mm jack and USB C simultaneously. And before you say that they shouldn't have removed it in the first place, let me tell you one thing: SPACE!
The internals of the XZ2 are so big, headphone jack is hard to fit inside. Vibration motor is large, camera sensor is large, stereo speakers are large, battery is large, plus some add-ons like Qi Wireless Charging, if they didn't make it 11mm thick, they wouldn't even have half of these crazy new hardwares inside.

Both phones have stereo speakers while V30S and Nokia don't have it.
Both phones have audio jack while Xperia and Nokia don't.

Glad to see ASUS getting positive attention. Not a fan of the notch, but what they're offering at those price points is worthy of appreciation!
