I have never owned iphone or ipad so i cant say much for the OS. But by the looks of iphone that few of my coworkers and few friends have they talk about that there phone lag a lot and when it's could out side then the battery trains dead quickly like 10 minutes and your from 40% to a 5%
I dont even like Android cause i think it lags to and have some other issues, but as i cant buy budget phone that has IOS on it and is this year new when i buy a phone i need to go with android phones cause there are 100+ different companies that have 10+ different models either flagship mid range and budget and all come with decent hardware so why should i pay more for a brand like Nokia, Sony, Samsung, LG and so on when i can get a budget 100 euro phone that has either droid 7.1 or 8.0 on it.
And then the talk about updates. Do i buy my self a phone that i need for daily use either it's calling or sending messages and sometimes read mail or news on it. Or do people buy phone just cause it gets updates either security or OS updates. You all need to use spyware and antivirus apps on droids anyways cause the market of that OS is so big and there for it's a lot more profitable for people to make spyware and viruses cause there are something few billion people that have android as a OS.
It's like Windows 10 have lots of viruses and IOS have less cause there market is just smaller a lot. I wont go on IOS on my PC cause the viruses and spyware. If i want to change i would go with Ubuntu Linux based and there is no viruses too cause the market is even smaller then IOS i think so there is not much point to make these on so little market where fools to find are harder.

Android has improved a lot these last 2 or 3 years but I still miss the attractiveness/ smoothness of ios. One example is the controls on bezelless android phone which are simply 3 buttons stuck at the bottom of the screen. When I tried the iphone X at the store it felt much better swiping up to come back to the home menu.
Thats why I will still go back to ios as soon as my wallet allows. (Unless apple keeps screwing up their updates but it seems they have learnt their lesson with ios 11)

Sure training will continue to be done on 16 bit or mixed 16/8 bit but identification on client side of already fitted matrix is more than good enough to go with 8 bit & even 4 bit for some things. Each /2 cut in the precision is 2x gain in performance.

I've used many phones. Yes android is far more comfortable and free to customize. The new versions are very stable. So smooth.

Most of deep learning is done on 16-bit, since it has more precision and there are actually libraries that take advantage of it to give you speedup. But yeah, we can go down that road soon in the future if companies make hardware for it.

I am no fan of apple nor own any apple products but their update policy is better.

I'f you're a "regular" person that will only use the phone for calls, browsing, fb and play some games, yeah, it's ok, but for tech geeks, ios is a joke..
PS When I say Android, I mean HIGH end flagships (Samsung and Sony). The rest are just wannabes. 3 2 1 FIGHT! :D

[deleted post]Not true! I own an Ipad, so i do have an apple product, nothing to rave about though, I don't like that Imessage either looks very bare bones. I just wouldn't want it in a phone, google has some great apps.

It comes down to $$$$$$$$ For me, I refuse to pay $900 for a phone seriously. Now you can get a decent phone for $100 with Oreo. Oreo has come up in trumps with toggle like settings! If i had the money wealthy enough i didn't care about losing/dropping $900 well yeah. I've seen friends try to keep up with the Jones, and struggle to get an iphone so stupid . Bottom line a phone is a phone at the end of day. Android is the clear winner because it offers more options in price range/companies.

obviously, that's cuz iOS is only ONE company while Android is ALL the other companies (dozens of companies) combined. It's even kinda unfair, they should expand iOS to other companies

iOs and android have pros and cons, I don't also believe that americans cant afford idevice so they stay with Android,its like this En eni ni!!! restrictions is what makes americans switch or stay with android, also with regards to the battery issue on old iphones.

I would go with windows phone but they dont advance it anymore so i went back to android.
I dont see a point to pay 1000 for a phone when i can buy 100 phone that last me year or two too so i can switch to newer version of android just buy buying a new 100 euro phone that does everything for me that i need out of a phone. And well IOS dont have that option to get a phone thats made in this year and not 10 years ago.
I dont play games on phone cause i am to old for them or i have not seen something i enjoy playing on a touchscreen device.
For me more important is that device works and is optimized with the release software. I dont need updates that might not make my phone better
