Voxter, 15 Mar 2018It'll depend of the demand. While an audio jack in the phone continue being a strong motive of... moreIt's not exactly like that. Look at what Apple did in the past. They were very good at creating consumer needs. If there was no market for some product they just told people that this product is exactly what they want/need. They don't do it anymore thus the sales decline.
I hate to sound like some auld git reminiscing about days gone by ....
BUT
Dunno if this is the way to go ......can't be consumer driven? ..... and call me old fashioned but I like a wire connection ........... and to be honest, the ear pods look ridiculous .... bad for ma style.
No way. Not happening.
Translation - 'we copied apple'
Sense sible, 14 Mar 2018You should read posts on HTC ditching 3.5mm It was more savage... Ironic, because the fact... moreIt isn't the htc10 had better quality
Sony is doing nothing but digging it’s own grave by things like headphone jack, fingerprint very uncomfortably located. I was just thinking to buy this phone and then this happened.... shame on you Sony!
Mitochondria, 14 Mar 2018We still have Samsung, LG, and Oneplus (BBK). Vote with your wallet people! And Nokia
KillBill, 14 Mar 2018Oh yeah, if other mobile CEO's start to commit suicide Sony will follow...and thats what are g... moreYou do realize most have removed the headphone jack with lg and Samsung being the only major ones not to do so . But if Samsung removes it so will the rest
if the sound quality is much better when connecting through the usb-c type its fine with me (usb will generate much more power for the headset -> better sound and bass), coz you can use your wireless charger.
Or just use a wireless headset.
Anonymous, 14 Mar 2018It was crystal clear, almost unmistakably so. That's how everyone else got it. English is prob... moreThat's correct. I am fluent in english but my main language is hebrew.
Now remove that USB Type-C port as well Sony.
Ambient Flow is flawed design. Who is the designer? Please harakiri yourselves.
Does this mean Sony gonna follow the Notch Trend? Dun Dun Dunnnnn.....
well if you're gonna remove the headphone jack Sony, at least learn to get your design basics right like the god awful fingerprint placement..
Mitochondria, 15 Mar 2018Majority still does, and if you notice only flagships have no jack. Until wireless headphones ... moreAssuming you listen to music for 5 hours a day, Sony headphones have 1 week battery life. Regardless, I'm still unhappy with the removal of the jack, and their lackluster reasons for it.
Is this a joke? If you want to follow the trend, the new Xperia bezel is too thick anyway.
Sony should remove AVG protection, Amazon shopping and bunch of useless Apps or give us a chance of removing them.
Just die already. No innovation from Sony from a long time except their camera and camera sensor business.
When a company can't fit a headphone jack in a whopping 11.1mm thick phone, it makes me speechless.
"In some regions, the adapter is a Y-splitter"
"And in some regions, you'll get Sony MH750 headphones, which hilariously have a 3.5mm plug"
sony really have awful unorganised marketing management.
Blindly following apple's trend is stupid. Sony is no apple and never will be.
Samsung is next, the reason they bought AKG. Iphone can do anything as trendsetter, htc and sony are known for good earphones so average consumer will buy anyway. Chinese oems will be last as they still use micro usb and large bezels on midrange.
