AnonD-743635, 17 Mar 2018And people furious about the changes in the global version remember this: maybe they needed to... moreNope, have you seen the Redmi Note 5 Pro focus ability? It still has focus hunting issue. The Chinese variant has a bigger sensor, brighter lens and most of all the dual pixel focus.

Merwyn Fernandes, 16 Mar 2018Have you heard about custom duties and taxes. Every country has varied amount of taxes and ... moreYou didn't understand my comment at all. I didn't compare prices in India and China with each other. Whatever taxes are being levied, it is going to be uniform for devices in the SAME country. So if RM5 and RM5 pro have same price in China, then it should have same price in India. The price in India is going to be higher than in China because more components are being imported but that being said RM5 and RM5 pro should retail for same price.
In Europe, if the pricing starts at €230 then it should be for both RM5 and RM5 pro. RM5 pro should not retail for more than RM5 even after taxes.

Anonymous, 16 Mar 2018They are cheaper in China because they are made in China. The problem is not that they are cheaper in china. It is the price difference between RM5 and RM5 pro in China versus in India. As I said before, I am comparing both devices in same market not across markets.

AnonD-725848, 19 Mar 2018Can any one assure me that, Does Chinese version of Note 5 can be used in other region which i... moreEnglish is always in MIUI even in China ROM (China ROM only support Mandarin and English). The cons are you need to check the bands used in your country. Because some countries uses different bands than China and hence the China phones don't have it. And the other con is you need to install Google services yourself.

Anonymous, 16 Mar 2018Xiaomi priced the phone same as Indian price so basically they are cheating here in India, ho... moreGive them a break. Xiaomi is a China company first and foremost. Do you expect them to price the phone at home higher than their markets abroad? Do you even support your own local Micromax like how those in China supports Xiaomi?

AnonD-743635, 17 Mar 2018And the journalists/phone reviewers response after that what was?It doesn't matter, if you buy, today, brand new Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (x) you will get Samsung, OR Omnivision sensor in back camera, not Sony, that the point.

So, who knows what sensor will be in Note 5 global version in the near future, maybe is now Sony for reviews, but later.. Only way to find out is to see in about phone kernel etc..

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2018Why they replaced the front 20MP camera?why would you want a 20mp front facing camera in a redmi? they have a smaller sensor and lens than the back camera (so they will never resolve 20 million pixels) , most front face cameras lack autofocus, so your face will be almost always slightly out of focus and finally if your face is in focus it will expose every little skin imperfection and blemish plus everything more than 2 meter away will be blurry anyway.

erwin ang, 17 Mar 2018why chinese get cheaper rm5 ? cos xiaomi no need to apply google, also some complicated paten... moreBased on explanation from Country Head Manager of Xiaomi Indonesia, Steven Shi, the chance is low. Pricing is still the key, where most Indonesians still hunt for price as low as possible. This Redmi Note 5 Pro, if available, will be priced higher than Mi A1 so their analysis concludes that it's not a good decision to bring to Indonesia. I'm kinda tired of buying from 3rd party reseller (or importing myself), but the officially available ones are not satisfying.
