I'm thinking that maybe Sony is given away free goodies is because they want to sell the XperiaXZ2 quick, before they can launch the new Sony Mobile...the real FLAGSHIP: Sony Xperia XZ Pro. Sony will probably launch that model in summer 2018 or maybe fall.
Just a thought :-)

When you add free official (expensive) accesories in new phones as gifts, you clearly know that the phone is overpriced or you failed in the design and desperately try to compensate it. That display protector is horrendous plus the case = ugly brick, even worse than naked. Instead of a soup spoon it becomes a pot spoon. It's funny watch how they trait different some countries from others.

Sony is desperately trying to attract people to buy these bad devices. I suppose they can have a great sales if they offer free 55 inch TV when purchasing Xperia phone..... I would 1000 times prefer 3.5 mm jack and Sony style design over any free goodies. And indeed - XZ1 Compact without any free goodies is 100 better than any of these overpriced ugly devices without 3.5 jack.

In the netherlands you get those wh-1000mx2 headphones (for both the xz2 and xz2 compact)

So I can get a free PS4 but i can't get a 3.5 headphone jack built in? Bad deal Sony, they really are going down with the ship it seems.

They like Sony, which for these pre-order specials is very convenient. The other reason is they also have never used a phone this t h i c c before and would either want to or have held it before and want it. I personally think 1cm is the best thickness for a phone.

I do love how t h i c c the phone is, and the design of the XZ2 from behind- reminds me of the Mi Mix. Anyway, if I had the money or a friend in Italy I'd definitely hook them up so they can export to me, perhaps with a premium for the trouble, but unless Sony has the best sound game(a bit ironic now they use USB-C for audio output), I'd leave them the phone and grab the cans.
