This is the oldest trick in the book to create an impression of demand.

You don`t end up having old phones that need to be sold cheaply. Better make a Little bit too Little amounth of phones and sell them all at good price than Somehow dirt a lot of old stuff very cheaply...

OnePlus are such cheapskates. When they release a new handset they sell a really low supply, so it’ll sell out in no time. And when their supply is already out of stock, they don’t bother make a new one!

Isn't that convenient, at a time when American authorities are cracking down on the chinese government spying through their own state-owned tech companies, OnePlus releases this statement.

Well we can be glad that OP were selling within the borders of US.
Having like no choice just to buy expensive Samsung or even more expensive apple.
Its like to decide if you want at bar a high quality scotsh whisky or even more quality Irish liqueur over the lemon lemonade for much less ad the lemonade in this case is much better option because it wont empty you wallet wont hangover you and you know what you have for what money.

Probably this device won't get any more support. Actually, it barely even received updates.

What a load of BS. If it was that popular they would simply ship more at a certain date. To say Permanent is a damage control cover up of some sort. Next flagship is a loooong way off so what are they going to do. Not sell any more of the current. What a load of crock. They have probably come up against some red tape hurdles like others are of recent times.
