Trump Fan 1980, 27 Mar 2018 Ironically, I joked earlier today, saying that Apple would release a 2000$ handset next year.while china android phone will release $1800 handset ...
Kiyasuriin, 27 Mar 2018Yes. I HATE the notch. It an obselete thing that shouldn't've been made in the FIRST PLACE!!!dont blame apple ... blame android phone for spreading it
It is never will be cheap! Old and outdated HW will be sold with lips sticks at premium price tags ! They distort the prices by pricing its low moving high end mobiles at steeper levels to create illusion in the minds of buyer to go for the next level under powered outdated versions at far higher prices than rest of the market
BiyoBiyo JunJun, 27 Mar 2018thats mean , u also want people dont buy android phone with similar notch design like iphone ,... moreYes. I HATE the notch. It an obselete thing that shouldn't've been made in the FIRST PLACE!!!

Bunyip22, 27 Mar 2018It also costs a lot to research develop and manufacture a new phone every 12 months. Clearly m... moreNo, it doesn't cost a lot. All the "research and develop" is done in software.
And it's not supply and demand. It's marketing.
Soon, smartphone buyers will realize that phone upgrades every year or two is absolutely a waste of money and expensive smartphones do not deserve their price. Smartphone development has reached a plateau. Most people really only use phones for photo/video capture, Facebook, YouTube and some online browsing and gaming in addition to calling and texting. Any improvement in photo/video quality, processor speed, screen technology, phone unlock method, etc, doesn't add anymore significant improvement to the phone's usability, convenience and overall user experience. There is no reason smartphones should not have the same upgrade cycle as PC's (5-6 years) and more so, no reason why phones should cost more than good desktop PC's. Consumers/phone buyers are led to believe by phone manufacturers that phones need to be replaced every year or two when in reality, new flagship phones of today have nothing significant anymore to offer to improve the user experience than flagship phones from a year or two ago. In the final analysis, only 2 things will require a regular upgrade/change: 1. increase in storage needs as the years go by and as you consume more and more GB of storage data, and 2. battery replacement as the battery deteriorates through frequent charging and discharging. Apple is really clever for not providing expandable storage and removable batteries in iphones. Those are the two components that will rapidly render even a properly cared for iphone useless (storage full or rapidly discharging battery) in much shorter time. These tech industries need to be regulated. They are coming up with with more and more features that guarantee rapid obsolescence for a more frequent upgrade cycle.
Anonymous, 27 Mar 2018Only phone in the market without bottom bezel.
Everybody and his do copied the notch, why n... moreApple finally decided they needed to catch up with reducing bezels in general. The pressure was on to change the design they used 3 years in a row. Had they not done it, they would've most certainly seen hits to their sales.
Only the cheaper, no name phones are following apples direction. Samsung seems to be realizing they're a huge contender. Many iPhone features are being adopted from Samsung now, and not the other way around.

Nzi97, 27 Mar 2018It did have bottom bezel, it just that the side bezel is the same size as the bottom one givin... moreThat's a boarder not a bezel. You cannot even fit a logo there.
First bezeless phone (w thick boarders and a notch) or what?
It also costs a lot to research develop and manufacture a new phone every 12 months. Clearly many people want the latest and greatest or they would buy a mid range device. No one forces you to buy one... its supply and demand.
Phone prices are gettimg out of hand. YOU the consumer dictates the price, you know that right? If the consumer wont pay more than $300 for a flagship, bet your sorry a** they will priduce $300 flagships.
