I know full well that MP count has nothing to do with quality. I also know that if a higher MP camera produces high-quality image, then that image will be far superior to a 12 MP image of the same quality. That is what the Pureviews provided, and that is what I'm looking forward to seeing more of. Adios!

Im sorry, green tea may help.
I just comment on what I am seeing by examination here...
and nowhere did I say this is bad camera performance, just that I dont see 107 points reference in there.
My comment is more about dxo than this device.
So please, dont get sick.

There is HUGE difference and the more I started editing in Capture one the gap widens far more ! Anonymous, 27 Mar 2018These low light photos are truly amazing! How?
1:1 they look great, but even on 100% crop Those lowlight 10 mpx ones lack detail, too much noise correction, and come out quite smudged (overprocessed). Those 40mpx ones are too underexposed, on 100% crop have even less detail, and more noise.
Those good light ones are again great at 1:1, but on crop have to much artefacts, color fringing....
I dont actually see this 107 point camera samples any better than what competition offers.

You have arenas samples here in full res, so examine them.
Them look great, but Not nearly as impressive as dxo makes them to be.

Goes to say more about the new dxo mark and its promotional "mathematics", than this tripple camera setup itself.

Extremely innovative. I have been disappointed with all major smartphone flagships following the S7 (which was the new benchmark in smartphone photography before the dual cakera modules started turning up), because nobody seems to have taken the advantage of Computational Photography and Hardware design innovations of dual lenses enough.
I am guessing the only way to beat this is probably with a 48MP + 12MP sensor combination wherein the 12MP sensor has much larger pixels.

I am eagerly looking forward to a lot of independent individual reviewers testing this.

For the moment, all expected flagships (and flagship killers) of this year are going to have a terrible year. They probably deserve it.

If you take time to read through you will appreciate how Huawei managed to pull this through. And that's how technology advancement entails, there was so much research by Huawei engineers and Leica team on how to achieve the unbelievable!

Firstly: DxO is garbage. It scores anything sold nowadays higher than the 1020 and 808. It even rates their xenon flash lower than LED.

Secondly: ISO 102400 is not quite usable even with full frame dedicated cameras.

Thirdly: it takes a lot of processing to handle that 40MP sensor even if the other ones are not in use. Some lag is to be expected. Video recording processing is likely impaired to prevent overheating.

Fourthly: considering its sensor size and image processing power it's very likely to outperform to the larger Lumia 1020 (1/1.5" sensor) but beating the 808 (1/1.2") or the Lumix CM1 (1") is a different story. I guess all readers would love them compared, myself included.

Fifthly: Long exposure shots do require a tripod.

Lastly: that notch -_-

Samsung could had used the same 16mp they used in the galaxy s6 or a 13mp sensor with everything they have now, but no, they have to copy iPhone. I’m glad Huawai is moving they own way...

I don't know why people here are debating over the resolution of the camera. 10 MP because it pumps the low light performance. And, I'm just happy that finally there's new sub 1" sensor in a smartphone, even more it's on a dual camera smartphone, since usually dual camera phone have two identical sensor that sized smaller than 1/2.3" sensor in it.

A 12 MP sensor has enough horizontal resolution to have 4k video natively, without reescaling, so better quality and perfomance.
Top of the line APSC-C cameras top out at around 24 MP, with a sensor ten times bigger in surface than those in phones, because even those big lenses have trouble discerning more pixels than that, and smaller pixels give worse quality in low light.
