Forget dedications to education and schools, it's still beets any Android tablet by far.

Khristian Willis, 28 Mar 2018If Apple thinks this is what’s going to help them sell more iPads, they are mistaken. It has my interest piqued, and I haven't considered buying another tablet in years (still using a Galaxy Tab S 8.4, mostly for travel).

That said, for everyone else its a no brainer of a buy. I was looking at Android tablets because I have an S9 and there's nothing that comes close to the price point and quality of this product.

So many uneducated haters below. So many kids already have iPads these days anyway. Apple are onto a winner here because Chromebooks are awful, and no one uses android tablets anymore. They're usually too expensive or underpowered.
This will also sell to adults too that want to upgrade.

Apple once again the king of tablets.

Nothing aimed at education should have a high cost, no matter the quality or brand. School budgets are limited enough as it is, who's going to greenlight something like this at a board meeting (outside of private schools with ridiculous entry fees that is) when you already have cheaper alternatives that can do just as well for most (if not all) situations?

So good upgrade to previous and beats all Android tablets hands down, but not cheap enough for that education purpose. We need new upgraded mini for that.

The new ipad is a joke, so is Apple. Google's Chromebooks are way better and most are more affordable with an actual keyboard. Its ridiculous that Apple charges $100 for the stupid pencil too

Btw... wheres the new Mac mini entry level into REAL coding?

No wonder they put so much time talking about software Hiding behind "education".. cause even Tim is shamed about the hardware.

Apple is like its own iOS operating system. They cannot multitask, can only focus on 1 thing PER time.. and limiting in its productivity.

A company that pride in holding both software and hardware in their hands.. moving slower then a turtle is a PAIN to watch.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2018I also think that 64 GB is an optimal size, but this would not give some the reason to buy a h... moreWell, especially when you mentioned the apple pencil which is why I would rather they go with 64GB as a base model. $ 100 for that Apple pencil is considered it quite a lot to most people ( and thanks god there's finally someone else pencil that we can use that it is not directly from Apple, which is a Apple certified product). I mean if you really wanted students to buy and use it, do the justice on price, so that people can also buy the pencil too. Otherwise, what's the point of supporting the pencil?

And also, since it is still a iPad after all, which mean people can also use it for other things. There'll be games, musics, videos, as well as photos too.

I don't think for once that people who gonna buy this is going to use it for education purpose only ( no way that people would do that), and let's not forget the OS itself will take away some of the storage too.
Beside, there's always people who wanted it a bigger size on storage ( like 128, 256 etc) for future-proof.

And at least you won't feel like being force to buy the 128GB because the 32GB is too small, so having a 64GB one would give a better option.

Also I completely understand that this is part of the Business strategy to make people go for the expensive one when they compare it. But I simply just don't like this kind of way in big companies.
