I dont get it... so the 1000+ advantage on the single core score is just wasted?... i guess these days those apps stress more the gpu than the cpu...otherwise it would be silly the fact that the snapdragon wins...its gpu scores are the highest ever tho...even higher than the a11 bionic

Anandtech did a great write-up on the differences. The Exynos is faster once it ramps up to full speed, but the Exynos 9810 scheduler is very conservative when scaling the frequency, and takes a long time to let the cores reach their top speeds. Also, even though the Snapdragon is not as fast with the throttle fully open, it is much more efficient, whereas Samsung has achieved these higher speeds by drastically increasing power use.
Yeah this was surprising when SuperSaf did it.
Even though the Exynos chip got higher benchmarks across the board, it was outperformed by Snapdragon 845 in everyday use.
