Just like you hate yourself, for copying everything around you ;-) just promise us that you won't hurt yourself, because that's also copying emos. But by not doing anything, you are copying everyone else. Maybe you should just stop hating ;-)

Too much over nothing.
The notch solves the issue of the notification bar taking the place of usable screen space.
It is beyond me why more companies don't use the black theme as default so that whiny users would accept it (look, it's a smart bezel!)

the notch is ONLY good for notifications and displaying the back ground
and extra pixels on NON-OLED screen drine the battery a bit faster and slightly decrease the GPU profurmens
notch PROs
1) better notifications then the LED flash
2) fully displaying the background
notch CONs
1) the notch take some extra battery life (on LCD screens only)
2) takes a bit of the GPU profurmens
3) anable to disable the notch to save battery
4) it is COPIED so NO ONE will love it
so the notch isn't so bad but the bad thing about it is its reputation since it is copied from apple (and because NO ONE loves nor trust a copycat) no one will love it
and most companies write $HITY lies and BULL$HIT on the retail box like "THE ULTIMATE FULL VIEW" or "THE FIRST ANDROID BEZELESS PHONE" it is ALL marketing BULL$HIT
as long as they DON'T say this $HIT in the promo video I can live with a notch (;

Lost respect for Carl Pei, never listened to the fans since OnePlus 5, now just copying design of Apple. No originally whatsoever. I think he needs to resign.
