I been using different mobile phones for 20 years, at the end of the day it's all the same sheet. So don't act like you are so distinct and advance and special using an android. at the end of the day android phones are copying iphones as per this article. So i wouldn't go there if i were you. it just makes you naive and dumb
Android users are not animals(sheep) like what the apple users are. And i think we like to think outside the box ,that is what android is about. At least i do. I like the option that i can do more with my phone.I tried apple devices and No more. Android suits me so well.
Lgs v30 is a beauty . The price is too stiff for me yet so i will have to wait for the drop.
The notch will be a fail . They have something good going on now so dont screw yourself.
I will NOT even consider it if they notch it.
not see all notch

Can someone please tell LG that they are actually making great phones, even without notch (G6 / V30), what they need to do is DON'T release the phones to the market MONTHS after announced.
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2018Ofc.... you are comparing 5.8 inch vs 6+ inch s9+ are you nuts?! Compare the x with the regul... moreEven old G2 have 7% less screen to body ratio compared to the iphone. With SMALLER display. So notch isnt a space saver
God no, don't do it LG.
LG phones has created the best phone l have ever used. From the LG G1 to the G6, infact l have loved the phones all the way especially the LG g6. Great built, highly durable and top of the range camera.
One thing l love about the design team is how they risk to bring new designs, But the fact with the notch is not making any sense. Even thou l have seen the notch on the Huawei Nova 3e and l have come to like it very much.
My advice is just go with the tradition bezels and if possible make the bezels smaller as compared to the galaxy S9 and l would love to continue with the G family. Just waiting to be the first to get one the LG g7.
How about no
LG just don't
y blindly copy ugly design, it look stupid on the user.
Hudinited, 30 Mar 2018Post is deleted after many ppl said NO for notch... same thing that xiaomi did with pure andro... moreOfc.... you are comparing 5.8 inch vs 6+ inch s9+ are you nuts?!
Compare the x with the regular s9 , that is actually the one that should be compared.... the x+ is about to be launched later this year but ofc stay deluaional as long as u wish.
And alao the notch does not eat apace , it provides such , with the housing of the clock and the other atuff in the corners it actually gives more space when you browsing web pages than if the clock and battery icons were to atart right under the bezel and the web page right under the clocks and battery! Cut the crap already! And alao at least apple housing aome good hardware under that notch unlike the reat that just having the notch for the sake of it!
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2018Except the X have some good hardware in there unlike all the rest that just copy the looks...In the notch i mean.

They want a pretty looking one, even if it costs them more time and money to do what used to be simple tasks. Like changing batteries.
r33fd, 31 Mar 2018Nothing you say makes sense to me. 1) Who said 16/9 was ugly ? I still hate this 18/9 trend... moreThey insulted people with the V20 to V30 transition. They proudly said the removable batteries are the reason people buy their phones and because of that, they released the V30 with sealed batteries.
Gee, 31 Mar 2018Why even bother just take a look at the forums surely that would give your answer to the silly... moreOne thing we have to remember that we Forum traders Are very small minority of actual phone users. So it is possible that big audience will love notch... even if we in Forum say that it is awfull and worst invention after removing 3.5mm jack.
The actual phone sale Numbers will tell the truth. New iPhone has sold well, but there is not actually competition in there. We have to wait at least a year to see how well these notch phones sell compared to nonotch phones. If the nocth phones win, well we nonotch customers lose... But our opinion has no meaning in a larger scale. So it is possible that we have to ”lear to like” the notch some day.
Or then notch phones Are just new trend that gets old in few years and some new trend will be the new hype that makes notch look old. Who knows.
Having screen available beside the notch is fine, but black it out and use the real estate to show useful information.
AnonD-744321, 31 Mar 20181) in today's standards short screens look ugly if you noticed most flagships/midrangers/even ... moreI honestly don't understand what you are trying to say anymore.
1) seems like we agree that 18/9 , 19/9 etc are a marketing trick.
Best example I can give is Mate 10 (not pro) that has huge actual screen space but is actually less tall than those gimmicks, making it easier to reach the top, yet people don't seem to love it much, maybe because it isn't available in many regions.
2) you make it seem like they have no other choice but to copy someone. WHY? Lg v30 had a decent design that nobody complained about. Why not stick to it ?
3) This is the part that got me really confused. No idea what you are trying to say here !
Things are this way : Apple has large fan base that will buy anything that Apple produces.
Lame copycats might appeal a few people who like Apple and can't afford it, but the vast majority of true Android fans don't like copies.
What's all this you are trying to say about notifications ? Notifications work perfectly on every phone I've seen. How does the notch help them, I simply don't get. In fact they actually work worse if you have a notch because you have LESS space for notifications.
I'm gonna stop here. I sad what I wanted to say. Hope it clarifies some things.
Since LG has deleted its reddit post I'll just comment here.
Thank you LG for asking US, customers, for OUR opinion about the notch as its US who decide YOUR fate by buying your stuff (which we have to like of course).
Now off to my question:
Are you a Apple follower or a individual trendsetter?
Like you did with your quad DAC for example? (Which gets a lot of praise by the way)
Screens are supposed to be square & or rectangular just as they have been for ages so don't mess with a design that is greatly acclaimed, perfect and most importantly, future proof.
In conclusion; listen to history and abolish the notch.
Personally i preffer more the secondary screen of LG V10/V20 (with less bessel obviusly), but i wouldn't mind the notch if the ui occults it. (I mean stay in black with some notifications)
I'm a bit more worried about the display quality (last year POLED sucks)
