But if you keep calling xiaomi cheap, copycat, trash despite producing some wonderful devices for last few years. Then i have lot to compare as well. Also current miui 9 is greatly optimized and works fluidly. And yes moto x was champ of its time. But that was good old standalone Motorola device. Now lenovo ruining its reputation imo.

Xiaomi Should be compared with Coolpad , LeEco , Umi , Dogee , ZTE, Oppo, Vivo, Tecno, Meizu , Gionee ,honor etc etc and Not with Motorola or Nokia.

My 2013 Moto X runs like a champ still nowadays (way smoother than any Galaxy S4/S5) and it's only Dual Core when all the competition had Quad Core processors.

Motorola doesn't have market in china. Redmi selling in china. But hauwei, vivo and oppo are biggest sellers than Xiaomi in there.
Xiaomi biggest market is india.

Motorola always stood for quality, not quantity. The durable materials, the software optimizations that no other oem has, the useful software and hardware features not gimmicks. Xiaomi might have a better processor in the same price range but a Motorola with an inferior processor runs exactly as smooth thanks to the software optimizations. Also Xiaomi never updates, you need to install Lineage if you want a newer Android version most of the time.
Specs aren't everything you know.

Xiaomi sells more phones than Motorola, because for same price they give better spec, beter processor, faster ram, better cameras, better battery life, and at least is not only stock version of Android, without any options. But they also have MI A1 for those customers, something for everybody.
Ok i understand Moto is you favorite brand, or Lenovo.. and really good luck with that. But you need to know that there is better OEMs like Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OnePlus, LG, Sony, HTC, maybe, just maybe HMD, because 7 Plus seems good phone with spec/price ratio. :)

All of them are ugly, this ones with the name in the front an a generic and bast appareance. The Z3 with the horrendous connectors to encourage you to put an expensive mod to hide that shit. And as usual overpriced because is Motorola, the devaluated brand of Lenovo.

The quality between them and their counterpart is the same, or not the same, but, both OEMs have more phones in offer than one model per year. In midrange and low end segment, Xiaomi is the king now, sorry. Funny fact is that Xiaomi sold in 2017, 91 milion devices, and Lenovo, Motorola combined 15-20 mil.. Reason behind that, Xiaomi have way better phones way better spec for the same price, and now with Note 5, and Mix 2s, pretty good cameras in mid,.and flagships segments. Maybe you need to try some Xiaomi, or OnePlus phone, first, because Motorola is now worse than HMD, also known as Nokia since 2016. :(
