Even SD625 have good performance, excellent battery life... So Xiaomi Mi A1 is a very good example. For now i'm with LeEco LeMax 2. This phone have amazing performance and really good camera on daylight photos. But i suffer with lack of battery life. Just 3-4H SoT. So may be my next phone will be Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (Chineese version) :)
Both performance and camera come fairly far down the list for me, behind price, size (I like huge), battery, screen (readability in sunlight and in bed), SD card, FM radio (implies jack), support for all my locals 4G bands...
Then, it's first an issue of not being bad. Either very bad performance or a very bad camera are fatal. Assuming both are OK, and I have to choose between one being OK and the other being good, I'll take good performance and OK camera. Ditto if it's between good and great, I'll also favor performance. But it's rare for things not to be decided further up the list of priorities.
nowadays phones have the best of both worlds which will only get better so why compromise on either?
