Anonymous, 31 Mar 2018it doesnt change the fact that sony always produces lousy camera software, hence no one buy experiaIt doesn't change the fact that XZ 2 is better in most camera shootout.

Shanti Dope, 31 Mar 2018It's more of an advantage to Samsung because they are focusing on AI (a.k.a. Bixby) while Sony... moreI'm sorry to burst your bubbles, but the thing is, there is no way that Samsung cannot do something when Sony can.
So if you think Samsung will stick to 720 and keep relying on the automatic motion detection while Sony will feature unlimited recording times for super slow-mo, on their future devices, well, you're clearly underestimating Samsung.

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2018nope. porsche, etc are good. because they earn huge profit every year. but sony? LOL.. aaha... moreI guess you really have thousands of April Fools jokes, April 1 alone won't be enough to say them all, hence the need of doing it early today.
Well that's okay, jokes are really good. Let's just not forget that what you're saying are just jokes, meaning not true or have no scientific reasoning to be considered "facts."

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2018who care? the most important is the one which can sell more. You mean porsche or bugatti or etc are bad because of their sellings? and toyota for example is the best because of high amount of selling?
samsung is like a chicken farm. it reveals phones and tablets 24 hrs always. like chickens that have eggs.
high number of selling is not a reason for better quality.

Nick, 31 Mar 2018If it is not practical, then it's useless for majority of people. Literally the only advantage... moreIt's more of an advantage to Samsung because they are focusing on AI (a.k.a. Bixby) while Sony doesn't have any AI that can detect motion.
Enjoy that Auto slow motion trigger on the S9 while I'll wait for Sony to put an extra 1TB memory for extended, and even unlimited, 1080p @960fps super slow motion videos.
Good luck trying to make that 720p video look sharp.

Once the novelty fades, smartphone buyers will realize just how worthless 960fps video is in smartphones. It's nice only outdoors under very bright sunny conditions. For typical indoor social occasions under available light like birthdays (blowing cake candles) , wedding receptions, etc., the video quality resembles what you get when you view YouTube videos using the lowest bitrates (144p - 240p resolution). That's perfectly acceptable for mobile viewing but no where near acceptable for desktop viewing, more so film production. It's a fad that gets old really fast, just like 3D tv's.

AnonD-672395, 31 Mar 2018GSMArena ... What a ludicrous comparison. 1080p is Twice the Resolution of 720p, so if it does... moreSlow-mo 1080p on sony is only half the time (0.1s) it can only record in 720p (0.2s).
Even 0.2s at 720p is not a big deal as it's hard to capture and quality is bad (watch the video).
Did you even watch the video?

GSMArena ... What a ludicrous comparison. 1080p is Twice the Resolution of 720p, so if it doesn't look better, someone needs needs to fix an appointment with their ophthalmologist.

Also, 12MP (or 10MP) may be the maximum resolution that smartphone cameras can resolve (with their hazy lenses and tiny sensors) in most lighting situations.

How about having a Low Light Shootout between the Sony and the S9. That would be more like it.

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2018Sony wasn't the first to use 1080p screen. You don't even care to check if your statements are... moreNo one is talking about a 1080p screen - they are talking about 1080p videos at 960 frames... before telling others to fact check, you fact check you DAM...

don't try to act so bloody smart
