They have their own versions of everything, they don't even have YouTube or Facebook(QQ is the equivalent for FB there).
bad phone that*s has no headphone jack and coping IphoneX
Since sony not release the XZ Pro.. I will buy this phone
i only dream of reading comments full of respect to one another instead of people insulting each other and pretending to be the best in technology, science, sports, music, food, etc..
just rise above your ego and comment nicely. people have different opinions & tastes. regardless of any phone's flaws, people would still buy a NOT so good phone if it fits them.
regarding the vote, I voted "Huawei dropped the ball" even though I love Huawei.
Its crazy, all the phone almost made in china, but when we see the result map, no body in china take vote
There is no perfect phone, every manufacturer falls shot every time, this is no different. Watched a few review and this phone has its shortcomings like any other claimed flagship s
Big nono for me. Because it have no sd slots. Android phones with no slots tends to be bad sellers.
However it might get some customer from Samsung, as some wants a flat screen instead of a curve one. However the notch itself means its effective screen size is smaller then s9+.
But basically, most will pick Samsung S9+, or wait for Note9.. because this phone is not exactly cheap. And they can't beat Samsung long list of gimmicks and features.. Yet.
Anonymous, 01 Apr 2018They were ambitious this time but completelly blew it with 2 major issues.
It uses an outdate... moreThe price is actually quite debatable, would you get flagship smartphone which can potentially replace your midrange compact camera, or just an all-round device with no major compromise like Galaxy S9? S9 is more for general public, but P20 Pro is for those who are into photography and want to take great photos not only with their dedicated cameras, but EVEN WITH their smartphone when they don't have time to take out and hold the cameras. Kirin 970 is fast enough and on par with S9 for day to day usage, only a few seconds behind when launching games(I still wish they have used newer chipset, but Huawei always releases a new chipset along with the Mate series, so there's that). Also, you're not supposed to shoot with 40MP mode with this phone, that's why in default the resolution is set to 10MP so that the phone can apply bunch of software effects in much shorter period of time. If you still want to shoot at full-res, then I suggest you to shoot in RAW because its JPEG processing on 40MP image completely destroys fine details.
And finally, P20 Pro has an IR blaster. Just like P10 Plus!
With the 3.5mm jack and memory card slot being removed... 100% no... It is a deal breaker... ☹️

camel, 01 Apr 2018Does Oreo starts with letter P? lame bruhCamel, try to read on the comment I commented. If you still can't figure it out, you might as well stop trying to read on here.

Obviously fantastic devices, I'm really curious to see notebookcheck, gsmarena, anandtech and the rest put that to the test to see how the software is in real world usage.
I'm saddened that the larger Mate RS and P20 Pro are missing SD card slots and headphone jacks again. Thankfully the smaller P20 has those at the very least.
This is the trend the industry is going, but those phones are not small and they are not cheap. How much would it have really cost Huawei to make the SIM-tray hybrid and add the 3.5mm? I can't imagine they are saving crazy amounts of money and they are losing some consumer good will (many will not care, but equally many WILL care, me included).
Let's see what they do with the Mate 20 or whatever. Hopefully they'll have Kirin 980 ready for that one as well.
Unfortunately 1080p isn't flagship.
They were ambitious this time but completelly blew it with 2 major issues.
It uses an outdated chipset and for that price is simply unacceptable.
And the 40MP sensor is just tiny compared to the one from.the Nokia Lumia 1020, so it resulted in grainy photos, if the photos are taken in slightly less than perfect conditions.
Is a good concept phone, but nothing more.
Totally not a daily driver for me personally.
And also, why exactly did they remove the IR Blaster?
And IR Blaster literally costs 0.01$ on Aliexpress.
Couldnt they fit 0.01$ in the 800-900$ price?
Not even in the 2000$ Mate RS?
Why remove a very useful feature, if it didnt degrade the quality of the product at all. Is not like you can't waterproof the IR Blaster hole. They made waterresistant phones with IR before. And not only that, P20 is only IP67, not even full IP68. Therefore, the removal of the IR Blaster didnt help with anything, except saving 0.01$ per device.
P20 Pro is the best phone and camera of the year.....
