NoiseyBoy, 01 Apr 2018It's got AI stabilization. I have a P20 Pro and it works great. Doesn't look so when recording video according to some videos I've seen on youtube

You won't feel the bump with a protective silicone cover. Doesn't matter how good you are with your phone, and not without reason Huawei are smart enough to provide a cover.
It has a notch, the design is not that great, the UI too.
That's more than enough for me to not buy this phone, despite its great camera (that is not as great as Huawei would say).

If the ai was able to disable in standard mode, it would be perfect. But I'll just continue to shoot where the quality is, pro mode. Still waiting for my purple p20 pro.
P20 Pro would be my next phone, but I'll probably go for the successor of whatever Mate is the latest one when I'm feeling it upgrading. :)
The P20 Pro is a gorgeous phone, but since the Mate series is the true flagship with the newest processor every year, give me an unlocked Mate 20 / Mate 20 Pro, with:
6-6.2" SAMOLED screen
4000-4250 mAh battery
Kirin 980 processor, with improved NPU
Dual stereo speakers with a 32-bit quad DAC built into the phone (like LG)
A choice of two fingerprint sensors (in-display and rear-mounted, like the Mate RS)
Cameras with OIS and EIS
MUCH improved EMUI software with better, and smarter Oreo integration
Twilight color option
I would buy that phone in a heartbeat, I don't care what Trump says.

But hump was inevitable with such a slim form factor. They had taken it as a challenge to fit 40+20+8+24 mp cameras and a 4000mAh battery within 7mm. Sometimes we call the too good to be true as dreams. Hopefully one day we as a human race will attain the ultimate perfection in everything.
Luckily, there is a built-in option in the settings to hide the notch. Similar to apps for Apple that accomplish a similar goal, but this is built right into the UI. The upper areas serve as sort of a second display then, similar to V20.

Well,900euro/1125$ is way too much for P20 Pro...It is an mighty machine, eventhough it looks like 400-500$ Vivo,Oppo,1+6 or whatever...that`s a shame. But those Bose headphones are actually rather special piece of kit.I`m a sound engineer and I apreciate a very good product when I see one,and those QC35 i tried for a short time and they sound great. They cost over 300$,the same as those BeatsCrap products but these are a real deal.
So,maybe P20Pro isn`t that horribly overpriced...but that`s still 800$...
Well, considering the Huawei Mate RS is THE best phone on the planet right now....
vrvly, 01 Apr 2018ok, better than old flagships.I don't blame you!
tbh, P20 Pro seems practical and aesthetic in every way except the screen. Why does it have to have a notch? What's the use of notch anyways? I would rather be able to watch the video without anything blocking my view than have a phone with more screen space to work with.
The Notch doesn't even offer any aesthetic as seen by the haters all around the internet. Also, Asus was bragging about their notch being better than the one in Apple but they don't understand that everyone hated the notch...
it's oled display, not amoled!!!

Nick, 01 Apr 2018If you hide the notch, you will actually get more screen real estate than similarly sized Mate... moreYou dont get it.
Notification bar is not without a reason called "notification". Lots of people have different apps that use it and that notch limit number of notifications to just 3-5.
Not to mention that, lots of people prefer to have data usage and battery percentage on that notification bar. That notch block it.
Beside homescreen/settings most of app hide that notch with black bar.... So what is the point of that notch in the first place if even system apps hide it?
There is no real reason for it, nor aesthetic nor technical.
Tell me, what is a problem to have 4mm bezel on top instead of 4mm notch in the middle of screen? Give me one real reason why putting nice looking small bezel is better than weird notch in the middle?
Now about size. You dont get more screen real estate, you get exact same screen that just look uglier because that notch. The End.
I feel indifferent on a notch. The workings have to go somewhere. Either full or short strip across the phone.
On the upside. Mobiles.co.uk has it very cheap.
