i don't think this symbian belle OS is an android-ish OS..it resembles more of maemo/meego device..why would nokia copy android's layout? for those android fans who thinks that nokia copied this to android, remember that nokia is not going with the same looks of android because nokia wants to be different by any manufacturers not joining them in the android monopoly.. this looks more like the n900 ui..

Well, it looks pretty damn good, although, other than the pull down status menu, I see little similarities with Android and more with SPB Mobile Shell (a wonderful application, only it eats resources like crazy).
There is nothing wrong with Symbian as it is, except for the fact that users have been spoiled by all the eye candy other manufacturers have to offer. This, however, should bring the long-awaited eye candy to the masses. Let's hope it's not too late, as Nokia has lost much of its credibility. I know I don't trust any phone made by Nokia that's newer than the N95, and that's because I've owned 3 other Nokias made within this time frame and there is an obvious drop in quality. The fact that the rest of the manufacturers offer even worse quality wise isn't an argument in favor of Nokia either...

Are you aware of everything that is going on at Nokia? Everything is brand new, new ceo, new OS's (N9 & Sea Ray, MeeGo and WP7,5 Mango) the whole company is in a bet the farm transition.

I am utterly amazed how you can describe that as being glued to a chair. Nokia may lose, or win, triumph, or disappear, but boy are they taking a risk and working hard here.

And you know what, HP stops, Motorola is bought, and Samsung and LG want a Korean OS. Who is the sucker now eh? :)

I find it so amusing that people were thinking Symbian is not supported anymore. My C7 just got Anna, and will be getting Belle before the end of the year, bringing it on par with Android but beyond it in battery life and reception. Nice, Nokia, very Nice!
