Anonymous, 05 Apr 2018This feature is crap on a Sony . Here it works much better. Who buy's Sony phones anymore anyway ???Crap??you better do research who are most innovative company...LCD,Cyrstal LED,OLED,camera sensor etc who are 1st company manufacture? 3D Memorys, 06 Apr 2018It is not shame, Samsung copy the super slow motion from Sony but why it can't copy Perdictive... moresamsung's slowmo is better and equipped with more features compared to sony's.
samsung's camera user interface is also much "user friendly" compared to sony's.
most people in the world prefer to buy galaxy compared to xperia.

so.. you can conclude it by yourself who is the winner.

It is not shame, Samsung copy the super slow motion from Sony but why it can't copy Perdictive Capture. It shows the hardware limitations and again the super slow motion is only 720p not 1080p, I still remember when Sony introduce 720p super slow motion last year there are trolls telling us the 720p is not enough detail, but now they having amnesia and praising the Samsung 720p super slow motion.

[deleted post]well, to sony mobile credit, doing first is something they only can do, since limited r&d budget and stuff, beside they had the camera division next door so having the hardware is easier than making complicated software feature, unlike samsung who have a very big budget to burn in their mobile division r&d, and even a chunk for marketing.
        so there's that

There's a technical teardown of the image sensor: http://www.techinsights.com/about-techinsights/overview/blog/samsung-galaxy-s9-teardown/

Samsung's sensor is almost identical to Sony's which is also used on US version. However, Sony already has the technology a year ago.

I am waiting for real Super Slow motion which is +720fps for continuous +2 min.

720fps (Minimum Acceptable HD Slow Motion) / 60fps (Currently Smooth Framerate) = 12sec playback for each 1sec
                                    30min (Standard Continuous Shooting) X 60sec = 1800sec.
                                    1800sec / 12sec = 150sec = 2.5 Minutes of +720fps recording.

Under 1 minutes of continuous recording in High frame rate is not worth to even show others, let alone count it as a real feature on a handset.

                                    Imagine:
want to record something worth slow motion, Drift Cup in Nürburgring:

Oh! excuse me driver, can you redo your drift, because I lost the turn which occurred in 3rd second of your turn!?

Yes possibly but thanks to sony for giving some brands the idea. Sony is the chicken and sam is the egg.
