This is what's to come with 7nm fabrication.
LG Superfan, 10 Apr 2018Huawei should introduce new SoC with P series to better compete with new flagshipsI don't see why Huawei needs to follow everyone else and compete with SOCs. I've had my honor 9 with Kirin 960 for almost 6 months now, and it's never hung or lagged once. I also have no issues with my games. The chipsets are good. The only thing they need to work on is 4k at 60fps, more efficiency and better NPUs.
Its not fake, but does it matter with sluggish Android? They are always going to drain out processors with unwanted processes/threads and checks at every keystroke.
The only people writing "Fake" are the ones who want it to be fake. They don't want Huawei to topple their favorite brand's phone. Hehe
We all know Huawei produce crazy chipsets, none of the chipsets before could compete with competition, I would not put your hopes high folks
TheWanderer, 09 Apr 2018Nah, it's never too early. But it is kinda late since it has to compete with this year's flagshipsHuawei should introduce new SoC with P series to better compete with new flagships
Anonymous, 10 Apr 2018Clearly talking about the heat and power of just another snapdragon or exynos cpu core vs the ... moreSamsung wanted to reach Apple's single core processing power, and as there was not popped up issue in E8895, they decided to maintain E8895 Graphic power with fewer cores which made room for more heat dissipation inside E9810.
SD835 (QHD+) = 20.0 fps
SD845 (QHD+) = 32.0 fps = 60% improvement
E8895 (QHD+) = 24 fps (MP20/546MHz) = 1.2 fps/core
E9810 (QHD+) = 24 fps (MP18/572MHz) = 1.3 fps/core
K970 (QHD) = 22 fps (MP12/850MHz) = 1.8 fps/core
Assuming 20 Core 850MHz = 36 fps = (QHD+) 32 fps.
HiSilicon view is different. G72 working 850 MHz is the maximum possible frequency.
Kirin 970 was the result of Huawei R&D and as they still focus in raw central processing power, it is unlikely that they can keep up with such in graphic processing department.
If they are already found a way to mass produce such a giant which bring tremendous overall result, It is good for us which pay less for upcoming flagship grade mid rangers.
When it is too good to be true, it usually is not true.
I bet my two cents on "fake".
The Scientist Pigeon, 09 Apr 2018G72 maximum shader cores are 32.
Mali-G72 MP24 and above are a head and shoulder above Adreno... moreClearly talking about the heat and power of just another snapdragon or exynos cpu core vs the upgrade in the 9810 are not the same.
Though I do believe that even with a few more cores and slightly higher clock hole the G72 may equal or surpass the the 630 it may come at a higher thermal power cost. Though just to match probably not a lot more.
If they hadn't gone for the new wide cpu design they would have obviously given the gpu side more oomph.
Performance is good and all but I do hope Huawei doesn't forget about software optimization, large batteries and good design. I don't really think the Mate 20 (or whatever Huawei will call it) should have a "notch". If they were able to make a notchless Mate RS then why not the next Mate series as well?
Other things I expect to see on the new Mate 20 are:
- IP68 certification
- QHD Display
- 4000mah battery
- Loud stereo speakers
- A headphone jack (please?)
- Dual or Triple camera from P20
- In-display fingerprint reader (because why not?)
Adding speed is easy, make efisient and cool is a different story. I have a bad experience drop huawei and broke battery's flexible
If they use stock A75, I can't see this score being possible.
They need a custom CPU that is like Apple's SoC in Single threaded performance.
Smartphones Fan, 09 Apr 2018battery gonna be terrible same as on galaxy... dat's why huawei tried to use low gpus save power ..Yeah, bad like in mate 10 pro.. Which is older than s9+ and still wining in battery segment by large margin over sammy
if is it true......applause.
Most powerful phone so far.
You realize that antutu measure much more than the cpu, right?
So its HIGHLY IMPOSSIBLE that the mate 20, or any other phone for that matter, have a 1.5x increase on every component...
I call it fake.
ChronoRad, 09 Apr 2018Yeah Huawei are seriously in need of better GPU, I don't know why they don't offer to buy Imag... moreQualcomm has being doing it for years now. Samsung and Huawei have the resources to develop a custom GPU, so, why don't they? Imagination Technologies has a lot of experience with its PowerVR GPUs. As You said, Huawei (and Samsung) could benefit big time.
