BiyoBiyo JunJun, 11 Apr 2018so kids want $800 - $1k iphone are spoil brats while kids want $800 - $1k android phone are... moreEven if an iPhone and an Androd phone costs the same, you get much better phone, much higher value if you choose the Android phone.
It will be interesting to test the hypothesis that most iphone users have a lower IQ than android users. What we need is data from smartphone users about their preferred OS and their IQs. If the two samples show significant deviation in mean IQs, it will confirm the hypothesis!
BiyoBiyo JunJun, 11 Apr 2018so kids want $800 - $1k iphone are spoil brats while kids want $800 - $1k android phone are... moreNone, but most kids won't ask for a 1k Android anyway.
Anonymous, 11 Apr 2018Way to cast judgement on honest answer given to a survey...*sarcastic claps all round*
They... moreYou think I'm being poisonous because of that comment?
Well, let me just input this, as someone also ask to do this in Asia in the comment section. And the answer will be most definitely even more crazy cause the iPhone will be showcase as to the users status 100% of the time in Asia. which is also 99% of time among teens( kids).
Let's be honest here, do you really think that those teens ( people's that at the age somewhat 13 to 17,18 ) knows alot about the mobile OS?
I live with teens like that and witnessed teens like that. And as a Chinese ( although I live in the US). I can also tell you just how much people wanted to have iPhone as " it's cool*, *it's expensive*, * it's what everyone around me have* .
Even many many many of the adult users can hardly understand most of the thing/function on their phone, do you really think that teens can really somehow be a expert in it ( there are some of them do). But the majority of them aren't.
And so, at the end of the day. It all come down to what other people around them use and then they use the same thing ( and which is a iPhone).
And when I said spoiled brats, I ain't saying without nothing. Who's gonna pay for the money? Dad and mom, and if it's a Android phone, almost 90% of the time the parents won't buy it because it's too expensive.
But if it is a iPhone, it is okay. Because it is Apple.
And this is for the other guy. Yeah teenage can choice to buy a older version of the iPhone ( or even in new condition, but that often came after they are no longer a spoiled brats, which they're somewhat started to get a part time job). College students in that case.
Aslipundit, 11 Apr 2018Of course. Most of them are too dumb to spell "smartphone" correctly, let alone understand th... more"phone is taking a zillion selfies, posting inane and grammatically incorrect rubbish on FB and Instagram and texting other dimwitted idiots like you, iOS works brilliantly. "
Well, perhaps that's what I want. Your relativistic judgements aside about what is an acceptable hobby or thing to do..... tell me why something that, in your words "works brilliantly" for what I have decided I value ....
Is a bad idea?
"The ford truck will pull what you want and do everything well you asked me about"
"What about the honda"
"Well, that guy over there said that pulling things around is stupid, so you're an idiot and should buy the honda, even though it's not as good at it for your desired use cases"
You'd have to be braindead to pick the honda, non? You can fault people for a lot of stuff, but I would not give android the props for usability you get on iOS. I hate iOS, I should mention.... but that's precisely because I hate a walled garden.
Here's the reason for that term though, and something phone geeks and aficionados forget: Adam and Eve loved the garden. They got sad when they got kicked out. If you're happy and it works the best for your use cases, as iPhone (at least in perception) does by your own admission..... why would they care? They're happy, and you're a bitter old man telling other people to be less happy because you missed your chance.
That's really what it ends up being when people shit on other people for their hobbies or buying things that do their hobbies better than other things. People don't want the intimates of tech, and if they don't, why the hell not get something that doesn't force that on them?
Well.. they're teens, so obviously the trendiest thing will be the one they'll be attracted to. But I'll always be #TeamAndroid.
IPhones are highly over rated and overpriced...still surprising that some people still prefer IPhones over Android. GOD save the world..
What do you want from kids? They think McDonald's, pizza and Kardashians are good things to choose. And watch each other. And iPhone (not like McDonald's) is good product. And best for gaming. Summarize and get this result.
It makes sense.
I'll preface by saying Android is love, android is life, and I will die on that hill. However, Android is simply not designed to be straight-forward and problem free - as comes with any OS built for large numbers of vendors and hardware. It's not their fault, but consumers are not sympathetic to it. I am not claiming iPhone is, but one has to examine the OS and practices.
iOS is generally far more stable than Android. It has polished, manually reviewed apps that work. They work consistently, and above all, the core phone experience is not something you fight with. I hate the lack of flexibility, but having worked 5 years in retail, I intimately understand why people pick what they do.
Unless it's a hobby or interest - people do not give one half of a rat's rear end about the intimates of it - only that it works. If it's Hitler on the inside, doesn't matter, as long as it gets the results they want. Most of them want to pick it up, use it for the 5 minutes it takes to do that thing they can no longer do on paper, and get off and clean themselves.
Teens are... in a way similar. They may not like paper, but the aversion to "it is worth understanding" in favour of "it just works, let me do it in 5 minutes and be done" is still 100% on board. They use facebook, snapchat, and their phones with proficiency - but they could not explain the reasons for a freeze or troubleshoot their connection to a printer beyond the Wizards if their lives depended on it. (People always claim with growing up with tech, people like me will be out of the job, but the truth is - they use it, they don't understand it, and that's where all my security comes from, so it's K)
They come to me if the screen breaks or their computer gets a virus - they don't want to be bothered to learn the intimates.
Anyhow, tangent, but my point is that android does not make it just a 5 minute task as reliably and offers more of those jarring experiences that make you remember you're using something - kind of like a poem. It can still be good, but you know those ones you've read with the one really forced rhyme? Same idea here. That's how people like their tech - they despise the odd forced rhyme, even if it's (arguably) better.
I would say they're missing out, but the simple fact is that as a professed techie, what I tolerate, want, and like is atypical of the population at large. I don't mind problems - fixing them is a hobby and a job and I relish it. Others would rather just sow or garden or something, and that's totally fine.
"90% of people who don't like wanting to spend additional effort on tech or care about the nuances of why it works, only that it does, somehow lack an appreciation for an OS that encourages an understanding of that nuance and is (perceived, at minimum) to be less polished and simplistic to use than its competitor"
Not much of a headline - it's an obvious observation that could be turned out in a sentence. Of course, I am awful with brevity, so instead you get this essay. Enjoy.
Well...a good part of them don't even know what gender they are or whether the Earth is round, so...kinda fitting.
FromChinaWithLove, 11 Apr 2018Wow, spoiled brats with iPhone, how surprise this is!
dad, or mom; I need a iPhone because... moreso kids want $800 - $1k iphone are spoil brats
while kids want $800 - $1k android phone are smart ?
Casedy , 11 Apr 2018In short, from the result of survey, when your brain get mature, you will tend to switch from ... morereally ? how smart android user are
Majority of US phones were bought from carriers and they will pay the phone monthly with the plan unlike almost other countries that pay outright.
Price wont be a concern there, and iPhone still have their "status symbol" that will make them look cool (also Apple ecosystem has been established long there).
PeterThePanda, 11 Apr 2018Teens prefer the Fruit so they can show off that they're "cool" (when really they're not) with... moreteen android love to made fun of teen iphone that their android got million of feature but in daily life , what they used same as teen iphone used ,fb , utube , ig , whasapp ...
deal with it .. its true . dont deniy it
FromChinaWithLove, 11 Apr 2018Wow, spoiled brats with iPhone, how surprise this is! dad, or mom; I need a iPhone because... moreu know they can buy $300 new iphone 6 right ? that almost same price as mid range android phone ...
Teens prefer the Fruit so they can show off that they're "cool" (when really they're not) without concern for the functionality and features of a phone, as well as price because obviously it's their parents' money that they're spending. Once they grow up and have to earn their own money, they're gonna realize that there are better and cheaper options than Apple.
Shui8, 11 Apr 2018The article mentioned TEENS. Most of teens still studying and still relying on parents money. ... moreso the teen that buy android phone that almost expensive as iphone with their own money ?
