most of it were bought by parents.
So thats where the money is coming from hahaha deluded generation
It's teens, no surprise here...
Ok great...but you know 65% of teens would opt for an iPhone just to 'show off' but in reality they have nothing much to do with an iphone...iphones are appealing just because of apple logo... remove that logo then see...I don't hate iPhone but I hate mentality of people
Techfan21, 11 Apr 2018The iPhone isn't even a part of Apple for education. If they're "forced" to use Apple product... moreYeah, but to keep everything more simple, they have to get the iPhone. You know, their own tiny locked up world. So instead of getting into complications with the gadgets to speak together, they are forced to have iPhone.
They haven't used ONEPLUS Devices i guess...
Why ask teens? They all have iPhones because they don't know anything else. (Except Samsung)

Interesting dicussion here. It is hard for me to understand what is the relation between the IQ and the choice of a phone. It is also hard to understand what makes you unhappy from the result of this poll. Americans are rich enough to buy the best on the market (or what is considered by the society as the best). That's it. Most of the people on the forums here are from india and other development economy countries. They are poor and they are forced to make smart choices, to buy the best for the money they have. This automatically excludes Apple products. Including me in this number. But why someone should hate Apple and love Android? Android is Samsung - same shit as Apple, Android is Sony, Android is LG and HTC. Their good models are on the same price level as Apple's, the cheap is absolute crap (acctually they don't have nothing cheap). On the other hand are the Chinese brands - they opened the market for good, relatively cheap devices. But this is just a step in their development. They follow same policy as Samsung. In 3-4 years there won't be good and cheap Android devices unless a new player appear.
So in conclusion, please don't evaluate people by the phones they use. This is typical for the poor people, jelous they can't afford an object and start hating it. This is not concious process, but with some efforts, it could be controlled.
I don't know why people here are so rattled over such simple dilemma, its all about satisfaction, simplicity and integration. Lets say, if there was a firmware problem with ios, it will affect every iphones in the system and apple will resolve it with an update and the problems are fixed for all the iphones across the globe. If there is a problem with Huawei software, Huawei has to resolve it not Google, and there will be even wait lists for different regions. I have a OnePlus 5T and I love it and I choose it. So its all about different facets and characteristics which influence people to choose a particular product.

Jimbob of Jonestown, 11 Apr 2018It makes sense.
I'll preface by saying Android is love, android is life, and I will die on ... moreYour comment makes no sense.
It's nothing to do with "fixing problems" or "understanding how and OS works".
It's about the fact that you can do the same "5 minute tasks" on Android like on iPhone. BUT Android offers much more features, customization and freedom. iPhone = useless, status symbol, fashion phone. Android = useful, real smartphone, high tech tool (unfortunately Android manufacturers are copying Apple, so V20 is the last true smartphone. Newer phones have crap fashion design like curved screen edges and corners, glass back, notch, ...).
If you want a certain answer then you go looking for a poll that has the results our looking for, there will be polls that have different results. What 16 year olds do polls anyway?
The only way this is true is that the teenagers are asked:
Do you own an iPhone? And they, thinking iPhone means Phone, they answer yes.
Even the title of this post is wrong: iPhone is a device, Android is an operating system.
So, if the question was:
Do you prefer IOS or Android, I do not think they would answer IOS in 82%.

people dont understand, is 80% of the 6,000 people who this survey was reply for.
Not 80% of millions teen's. So...dont you worry, if they do the same survey to at least 5 million the porcentage is under 50% i belive.
