Risto, 15 Apr 2018Why only super expensive phones get wireless charging? I remember at old Nokia times, even mid... moreIt ain't practical at all in real world.
It will ease the hassle of having the need of plugging the phone to the USB connector and charger, but will make charging slower, as well as the inability to carry the phone while using it (wireless charging works only with physical contact between the charging pad and the wireless charging coil on the back of the phone).
So wireless charging fixes one problem, and then introduces 2 new problems. IMO it's not worth it.
Risto, 15 Apr 2018Why only super expensive phones get wireless charging? I remember at old Nokia times, even mid... more- wireless charging needs non-metal back, so it should be ceramic or glass (as manufacturers trying to get rid of plastic bodies for their smarts), which may cost too much for non-flagships;
- they may use wireless charging just as additional selling point to the many of them for flagships;
- the demand may be not so high, so they don't wanna risk to put it in all the phones;
Risto, 15 Apr 2018Why only super expensive phones get wireless charging? I remember at old Nokia times, even mid... moreTechnical limitations. NO metal-backed phone to date has wireless charging. (The 8 Sirocco is a glass-on-glass sandwich; so are the 2017 iPhones and the Galaxy S/Note series. Nearly all Lumias had Polycarbonate backs. The 6 (2018) is completely surrounded by 6000-series Aluminum.)
Also, Durability matters for a mid-range device significantly more than wireless charging. If you saw JerryRigEverything's test of the old Nokia 6, it was famous for not budging whatsoever during the Bend Test. All signs point to the new N6 being more of the same...
Nobody wonder this HMD-Nokia design is purely copycat of Motorola Moto G3.
I have nokia6 but will pass on this new model, it's not much an upgrade so I want nokia7 plus instead.

It's in an unlucky ... moreSo they should jump on the Chinese android train, and put a notch on it, and make it look like an iPhone 7? At least Nokia had a go instead of blatantly copying Apple like everyone else

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2018Wait is there ac wifi? I thought there wasn't.there isn't!
Why only super expensive phones get wireless charging? I remember at old Nokia times, even mid rangers got wireless charging built in (eg Lumia 735). Now it seems only Nokia 8 Sirocco has it.
Anonymous, 15 Apr 2018Wait is there ac wifi? I thought there wasn't.There are wifi bands such as
802.11 n/b/g (These are for 2ghz frequency range)
802.11a/ac (if it consist of a or ac then it supports 2ghz to 5ghz frequency range which is extremely faster than 2ghz)
LG Superfan, 15 Apr 2018Please review Nokia 1ok , its crap.
I think the bezels are too thick to look modern but too thin to look good. It's in an unlucky middle place.
Wait is there ac wifi? I thought there wasn't.
Anonymous, 15 Apr 2018Better than moto g6Nice joke though.
Ugh! Over-priced piece of crap.
Just some corrections: the LTE is CAT4, the same as the original Nokia 6. And the wifi is NOT ac, so it is the same as the previous one too.
Really love that history of mobile phone poster
