But they don't rate it when Xperia already adopt Background Defocus long time ago.

sailor jupiter, 19 Apr 2018LOL u said ois is overhyped because sony cant afford to use it. i still remember long time ... moreDual camera requires a seamless combination technique that's will slow down the capture processing and XZ2 Premium adopt the standalone image combination chipset (AUBE) which allows the images combined in the fastest and efficient way! Remember the Motions-eye sensor collecting the image signal faster than older IMX sensors. That's a developed technology not half-baked technology like some of the AI chipset.

but i admit sony really improve its camera. much better than the previous flagships, especially in low light.
sadly the design is really bad. it looks ugly and cheap.

If Sony spent extra 5$ on every unit for marketing, it would sell hundred of thousands more...

Just watched a couple of compares of XZ2 camera to some top competition on my new 4K hdr 55 inch TV screen ( I guess that would be quite representitive of quality)...it makes excellent photos, sharp, detailed, superb looking on big screen, even lowlight better than most. And Especially HDR video in lowlight, its just another level up from competition.

Couple that excellent camera with all other performance advantages...yup, just 5 bucks more in marketing, moreso than in OIS, would make a difference for Sony.

i still remember long time ago when u said dual camera was useless, and big bezel is the best, and galaxies looks like soaps.

Tann Hauser, 18 Apr 2018Its a choice. But you wouldnt understand.I think OIS is overhyped and I believe Sony found the best way, it is using the AUBE signal processor to combine images to produce the shakeless image in ANY light conditions.

Tann Hauser, 18 Apr 2018Its a choice. But you wouldnt understand.Obviously you don't understand business or technology . If Sony spent the extra $5 and used OIS and then probably would sell hundreds of thousands more phones. Sony has a bad name with photography on its mobile phones, particularly at low light. More sales means more profits..

Why?, 16 Apr 2018Why hater always complaining about bezel, do you want sony to become another crappy iphone copycat? They already did when they removed the 3.5mm jack and drastically changed their design without doing much about those hideous bezels.

As usual this phone will probably cost over $800, probably even $900 and above so no one other than serious Sony supporters will even consider it. The lack of a headphone jack is a real bummer.

All we got is a "sincere apologies" and "promises to do better next time". Granted, in here they would admit if there were any defects in our gadgets. But what's unacceptable is some very rude staffs and very long repair time: three months for all phone type, from low end to high end. That's why very few people feel sad when Sony announced that they stopped selling new phones from 2016 then cease the SonyMobile operation in my country 2017 back then.
Granted, a lot of people in my country drooled all over their face (myself included) when they see new Sony phones since 2016 back then, but the drooling stopped when they remember what the "so-called" Sony premium service gave to them.

How many satisfied customers do you think that take their time to post how excellent the service experience was? Almost zero. 99% of the people commenting are dissatisfied customers. And that applies to any brand out there, not just Sony. Even Apple has customers that are mad.
Make an official complaint with Sony Japan and also if there is an authority for consumer rights in your country, I'd go there too. If someone gets fired in the process, the rest of the employees there will turn into puppies in a blink of an eye.
That's how things work in Europe. We fire non professionals and we don't hire people without prior experience and training.
As for the lack of service centers, that's directly related to the number of sales in that country or area.

If they're poorly trained, then that's reflective on how the company trains them. If they behave poorly and treat their customers poorly, then it shows how poorly the company manages their employees. The way the employees behave in front of their customers shows what kind of attitude a Brand has. Remember the First rule in management/leadership: Everything is your fault, from the mistake of your smallest employees down to your your mistakes.

Mind you, I never disrespected them when I went to the Service Center. And FYI, a quick Google Search at reviews of Sony's Customer Service (in many countries) reveals nearly overwhelming negative reviews especially at the behave and treat their customers and their products.

PeterThePanda, 18 Apr 2018Yeah, I'm also in SE Asia. As I told earlier, the service center sucks and the staff were n... moreDon't blame Sony, blame the people working there. I'm from Europe and I had to go only once to the service center with a pc monitor that had a few dead pixels on on arrival.
The service was impeccable, I got my monitor replaced with a brand new one (for only a few dead pixels). They even gave me a secondary monitor for a few days till my new monitor arrived. I would give them 10 out of 10 for their professionalism and help.
So again, don't blame the brand, blame the people working there. Maybe they're not qualified for the job or they need extra training.
Better make an official complaint to Sony so they can hire someone with the adequate training and skills.
And remember this: the people in the service centers are there to help you, they are not responsible for the brands products, they cannot change things, they just repair them. Yelling and cursing at them will only lead to even worse service. That's how I would treat someone that screames at me.
Treat people with the same respect you deserve and things will be smooth. If not, suffer the consequences.
