[deleted post]try talking 1.5 hours holding 250 grams in your hand near your hear. it's painful.
I got physiquie and my arms are slender but toned. with well defined muscles.
Sony just cant get it right after so long.. the design is still ugly.. still refuse to use oled. Battery still small. And the weight n thickness of this phone is a total deal breaker...
LG Superfan, 16 Apr 2018Its announced? No special event, no wait til IFA, no leaks or.rumors no teaser nothing such a ... moreI'm pretty sure this phone was delayed in announcement and release for some weird reasons (I think it was supposed to be announced along with the XZ2 and XZ2 Compact) but I guess the Premium won't be the last flagship from Sony this year.
I love the XZ Premium's design too, but I don't think it will fit into the hype of small bezels.
Only thing I would've wanted more was the 18:9 aspect ratio with a 5.8" display. That could've made the body a lot less wide, which would help with how the device feels in your hand. 80mm is really wide. I guess JOLED isn't ready yet but that doesn't matter with the battery life and quality displays Sony offer.
I wonder how much this thing will cost. If they do the same action as with the XZ2 (compact) and offer their €380 NC headphones with it, I might just get it. (And let's be real, they probably will.)
This is a great device once again from Sony!
This phone still has weaknesses for sure, but people are complaining about things on this phone that often makes no sense at all.
They're even talking about how this phone will make Sony fail.
Yeah, as if their success relies on purely just one product.
I'm still not happy with the lack of headphone jack, but I guess I could easily live with it.
For those who are expecting Samsung flagship specs on this phone, sorry to disappoint but you're on the wrong site.
Xz2 premium = 6.2" tall with 5.8" screen.
Xz Premium = 6.14" tall with 5.46" screen.
Xz2= 6.1" tall with 5.7 screen (18:9).
This phone has reasonable bezel size.
5.8 HDR Display with 16:9 (fck yes), dual cam With new hardwares and apertures (processing is already improved in xz2), front firing s-surround speakers, LDAC, Excellent audio via headphones, DVS (I liked it in xz2), 13 mp selfie cam with flash, 3d creator, humongous 3450 mah, faster software updates with minimal/no bloat, clean Close to stock UI, 845 with 6 gigs ram.
Gosh, this phone gonna kick some ass. Haters can only whinge _|_
AnonD-227172, 16 Apr 2018Sony would never learn. Still waiting for a good phone from Sony after I used Z premium last. ... moreAgreed. I used to own sony flagship and love their designs, these XZ2 series are not my taste (personal preference). Specs are good already, just that this new design looks weird to me. Will wait for new Sony design language.
Its announced? No special event, no wait til IFA, no leaks or.rumors no teaser nothing such a big announcement with nothing
This phone is good but not a major update over XZP, and they should have kept XZP design new one is sh#t
Phone is beautiful and unique. Don't need to convince anyone, if you don't like it then go pick from one of those bezelless look-alikes out there. These days can someone honestly tell a difference between say 900 dollar flagship and a 150 dollar Chinese phone!? don't think so. Bezelless is fancy but almost impractical and absolutely fragile. The cons simply outweigh the pros and these are the things Sony put into consideration.
Agnes, 16 Apr 2018Why it only have dual 1/2.3" sensor, while huawei already moved into 1/1.7" sensor?why s9 has 2.55 when sony moved to 2.3 5years ago ?
AnonD-227172, 16 Apr 2018Sony would never learn. Still waiting for a good phone from Sony after I used Z premium last. ... moreyes,of course!sony loves his fan,and sony always a great smartphone compny
Anonymous, 16 Apr 2018y said that. i didn't Yeah because the iPhone X is good with a useless notch while this is not with a 4K HDR display.

Sony is just saying that the new lenses on this new phone can compete with the ones found in their interchangeable lenses for professional cameras in terms of quality, not the main sensor itself.
Be objective for once?

y know.. people have... moreWe're not talking about preferences here.
It's okay if you don't like heavy phones, but it makes no sense not to complain to another phone of another brand that is nearly as heavy as the heavy phone you've complained about.
Hurting myself? Why would I do so? The only thing here is that I'm using my intelligent brain wisely, and I know what's right and what's wrong.
How about you?
Shanti Dope, 16 Apr 2018no notch - dead on arrivaly said that.
Shanti Dope, 16 Apr 2018The new f/1.8 and f/1.6 lenses in their new smartphones can produce the same image quality as ... moreErm no, you are just finding excuses for Sony. They are clearly misleading consumers. They are making a comparison with cameras that allow you to change the lenses. They are not comparing the lenses! Smartphone cameras can't even compete with the compact RX cameras that Sony makes, much less ILCs. Please be objective for once.
Eagerly waiting for these Sony dual-cam results! Their previous XZ2 camera algorithm already improve, along with this new monochrome sensor, it maybe no need using of OIS in low lights! Example - Honor flagship phone, without OIS, but got secondary monochrome camera, easily competes with OIS enabled phones. But that design though, just upped the whole thing so that fps in ergonomic place! Oh well.
