It fixes some small things you never could bother. Your phone is secure as it can be. IPhone has a lot of security issues too, but you don't see people crying that it does not get updates. Android is much better than iOS if you didint like Samsung approach there is so many other brands which does things to your liking, try other top brand phone and than you can compare differences with between Android phones

Secondly, Android auto not supported yet in your country isn't Google's fault because they target strong markets first. It's not supported in my country too neither is Apple carplay but would that make me to be whinning like a dog on heat? Hell to the NO

I bought an S8+ when they got released. I had 2 androids before that ( a Moto X and a Sony Experia Z). I also own both a Tab S and a Tab S3. Although I had an Apple 4S as well as an Ipad 2 before that, I went off Apple because of their closed ecosystem, lack of SD card slot, and by last year the disappearance of a 3.5 mm jack. Not to mention the Distortion Field.
I thought (and was assured by the Samsung guy) that by getting a top of the line Android Phone (and tablet) from a major player, I could get timely security updates, the latest Android when released, and good software support.
I was sadly mistaken. What I got was poor security updates, Oreo in february 2018 (an even now not yet for the Tab), and a gazillion useless Samsung apps. On a sidenot, my new car has Android Auto, but that's not supported by Google yet over here.
I have now decided I'm completely done with the Android mess, and I'll be back to the iPhone next time.
I am even contemplating dumpung Microsoft with their borked 'creators updates' and Windoze as a Service and going Full Fruit (Tm).

when will we get april security update for s7edge ?? and also oreo update??
Before the Oreo update samsung's camera had the option to toggle HDR on screen ....now I have to go diving into the settings for that...
Honestly Samsung's updates are always irritating especially as they seem to take 1 super slow-mo step forward but 2 quick steps back...
And here my US unlocked S9 sits on the Feburary security update.
What Samsung should also do is improve the quality call of S9+. Is the second that I have with the same issue: seconds of silence during the call... a basic task with a big problem...
