For gaming phone to succeed. They need hardware controls, and a big list of games that is optimised for it.
As of now, the play store is flooded with tons of touch based IAP games. No way to filter.
Nintendo or Sony or Microsoft could actually made games like these for like say 25 bucks per piece.. but they are affected by existing mobile games.. instead of like say “super mario bros 6” .. its a touch screen optimised super mario run filled with IAP and casualness.
Sega tried the opposite.. bring old games to mobile. We actually need New games on mobile that is optimised for controllers.

First of all, mobile games do not really get more consumers because gamers are still using Desktops to play the best games. Second, if you buy gaming phones, you will miss the important features on a smartphone (camera, extras, etc.). Lastly, it is still early for companies to develop this kind of trend.
For me, I will just buy a normal smartphone that can handle my daily tasks. I'm not really a mobile gamer, but I just want to play games without peeping frame rates and performance.

Because honestly all those big games are peace of... cr#p. Boring as heII, repetitive, flat without any story, with really bad controls, without any optimization or filled with micro-transactions even if you bought it.

This can be done for any phone without gaming moniker. Without exclusives games, the only difference is the tacky design.
Well, this is where most people got wrong. You are involuntary comparing the phone to a console (or even a PC for some people), which that is why people got it wrong!
People shouldn't compare a phone to PC in any way or a console which is dedicated to play game in the first place.
Using Smartphone to play mobile games or especially the gaming phone in this case aren't suppose to be a all around phone to begin with.
Yeah, every smartphone can play mobile games, but all of them can be a one-for-all device that can really play all games without any problems ( like performance and RAM management to have a smooth gameplay).
For people who keep on asking for a controller or similar to a smartphone or for mobile are simply not quite understand mobile games in the first place.
For 1, mobile games aren't the usual console that which the Dev tram have to follow some kind of rules ( like they must make sure the game control by the controller and the key must response to that specific key). But mobile games isn't function like that.
Sometimes, some mobile game got more button to tap for items, skills etc. Which if you have to give it a controller, it is not gonna be in place with it.
And sometimes they're simply just 1, 2 or 3 on-screen button for the simple needs. And so, mobile games and the way they layout the button are just no longer following the console game rules anymore.
So, for that how are you gonna ask every Dev teams or maybe most of them to build a game with a specific button placement to control game because one or 2 smartphone got a hardware control? And let's don't forget, every OEM that would also build their phones differently. And that's even more trouble with dealing with.
If any OEM wanted o build a mobile game gaming phone, they need to stop trying to make it a all around phone that pretty like a regular flagship phone.
They need to make sure the phone are more better on RAM management to make sure the phone doesn't lag for playing game for a long while and also make sure the performance are consistent.

I am not happy with the results.
Xiaomi proven that the flagship can be make uder 400 with blackshark.
I really wish other companies think same.
Having best úphone for a best price is a dream of everybody.
Not everybody needs to carry an iphone made from meteorite rock for 110 millions :-)

Now a real gaming phone needs much more than just extra gaming buttons.

It's just that the new gaming phones come with the... moreif you are planning to buy a gaming phone, the design should be the last and least important criteria you care to look at. The most important criteria is the availability of the games, which is an advantage for iOS over Android. Secondly, it is the speed and smoothness, iOS has higher fps (A11 chip), and normally loads games faster than Android, and certain games are only well optimised for iOS while certain games are similar in iOS and Android. Razer phone has speaker advantage and if you want the best camera, don't buy a gaming phone.

You only cares if it has good exclusive games which you intrested in and if it has proper controls plus super fast chipset with loads of RAM would only make choice easier. Non of the gaming phone nowadays can offer controls or games except fast chipsets, which again nothing to brag about, cause theit not custom or special in any way. Any flagship phone these days can complement any gaming phone their release. So yeah, we still waiting for proper gaming phone, long live Xperia Play, we need Xperia Play 2. Sony can do it right if they can deal with their ludicrous mobile division.

I don't really agree with the poll results! It's just that the new gaming phones come with the top end specs, but an average camera, so this problem must be resolved! A gaming phone should totally be a replacement of the flagships in terms of everything, be it the hardware, camera, speakers everything!
It's quite boring to see every flagship with the same glass metal sandwich design (Eg. Samsung from past 4 years from S6 to S9)!
