I admit it's not the greatest design on the XZ2C, but it's the ONLY ONE in it's category: Compact high-end flagship with SD845.
Also, most of everything I mentioned has to do with software - that's the whole experience when you use a phone. Design is not that important for me, but the software part is.
Compact is for people like me who don't
ike HUGE displays for a whole bunch of reasons. It's either impossible to use with only one hand, or someone has tiny hands, or simply out of privacy - everyone can see what you're doing on a huge screen.
It can be the most beautiful phone in the world, if it doesn't have Qualcomm chipset, sd card slot and the ability to be rooted, I'm NOT interested anymore. I don't care it has 15 cameras or 20GB RAM - it is useless to me. But I'd choose an ugly device that has all of those. Because I don't care about the looks, what stupid camera it has or how shiny it is. I'm here for the software part.
Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

JR 18, 27 Apr 2018Seriously i don't understand how you guys can buy the XZ2C? This little, super thick and very ... more1. It's handy. Same width as all compact series. I'm sick and tired of big and unwieldy devices, I want to have something created with human needs in mind.
2. I survived the thickness craze started by Razr, I'll survive this one. I'd rather have a couple more mm of thickness than a phone that is too thin to be comfortable and has a small battery. I'm glad Sony did it right this time.
3. Yup, it's heavy. It's not a major flaw, but it's still a flaw.
4. It looks better than other flagships of 2018. Yeah, it's not the prettiest phone I've seen (after all, I've had Xperia P and Xperia Z5C), but it's a great improvement from its two ugly predecessors and it looks much better than its bigger sibling.
5. It's one of the cheapest phones with 845, if not the cheapest one.

Only those? What about the LG Stylus 3? Too old to update? Fine! I'm wasn't looking forward to it anyway.
What about the LG Q6? LG makes a big thing about it, but never announces that they're working on updating it?
If I can't taste the latest Android available to MOST devices, I'm switching to other smartphone makers that update ALL of the phones that they release until the phones can't handle the updates.
NOKIA, Huawei, Samsung (security updates are still timely), SONY, Motorola, etc..
Goodbye LG. You are a little too late to start trying to win me back.

What's not to like about that? If it's too expensive for you, buy last year's model..
