Wondering if an iPhone X have an upgraded 8 GB of RAM.
There will be two possibility.
A. It has more free RAM, also more free-to-total RAM ratio, considering it OS has a great memory management.
B. It has more free RAM, but rationally, it's still the same.

I wasn't trying to be offensive in previous post, just curious about the device you've built. What tests did you include in your xml? Also a bit curious about that.

For example you can compare android vs ios, ... moreYou're right and the explanation is twofold but really simple in principle. iOS compresses memory so that it uses less RAM than on Android in addition to not having to run everything in virtual machine like Android and waste resources on garbage collector. Also on Android there is a background task limit so that the battery doesn't die too fast. On default it's something like 32 IIRC but don't quote me on the exact number. So the extra RAM is only used if you launch many memory intensive apps unless manufacturer increases the limit or you so it yourself via some easy tweaks. Apple tries to strike a good balance between battery and amount of RAM so that none goes unused while some other OEMs on Android give you 8GB of RAM without increasing the background app limit which is pointless as it only wastes battery.
What Apple does is 10x more sensible but not without it faults. The 2GB iPhone 8 struggles to keep up and even the 3GB 8Plus/X fails to keep up with a phone like OnePlus 5/5T (6GB or 8GB model, barely a difference due to aforementioned reasons) in multitasking because of sheer memory difference so maybe the balance in current iPhone lineup tiped too far into battery.
If you're interested here's a very in depth explanation about this topic: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lCFpgknkqRE
My laptop has 32gb of ram and a regular i7700
I don't see how that limit of 16gb is right

Akinaro, 29 Apr 2018Jesus.... I expected more from this article, especially laptops mentioned at the end. Modern ... moreThe RAM hogging tendency of Android has nothing to do with Linux kernel. Linux is highly scalable, and can run on systems that don't have enough RAM to run Windows XP. The problem with Android is that, with rapid rise in available RAM in recent years, application developers don't put too much stress on optimization for low RAM usage. Same goes for average application size. Being a Google product, analytic processes are continuously running in the background. The fact that the foundation of Android is laid upon a modified Java Virtual Machine doesn't help.
And my post wasnt even added found some interesting phones with 10 and even 12 GB of ram. What a shame.
Huge ram doesn't matter if not utilized properly. For example you can compare android vs ios, you don't need extra ram for fluid and smooth transition from one app to another or keep apps run longer. Same goes for PC, you only need the extra space if you'll be running a lot of apps. Unless if Vram is shared with DRAM itself.
Manufacturers should optimized software before hardware as tangible objects can be added later in form of to enhance the "experience" to the fullest. Imagine an ios device with more than 3gb or like 6gb from the note8, its gonna make all android flagship trailing behind atleast 2 years with that A11 Bionic chip.
I ain't no techie but I understand what will make a phone better than the rest.
Optimized software + Excellent hardware = Better overall experience
(I'm looking at you Nokia, need better ram management)

There - you can show us a proof that does not require photos, is very fast to do and you can post it on that notepad site in text format. Don't bother faking them because only one is possible to fake, I'll let you guess which are not.

Everyone can make one like this. Lack of specific information only confirms that you have not built a device like that. I doubt you have ever seen the insides of any electronic device. Oh and the date of when you made that note is public - which was today.
