So, you are still suffering this kind of policy?Xiaomi has three manufacturing plants in India, and have planned to open three more, for a total of six plants under 'Make in India' scheme. This will be beneficial for Xiaomi, its workers as well as the consumers, as there will be no import duty applied to the products manufactured locally.
That probably also explains why prices have increased for only two products, not all.

What's wrong with this rule ? It's absolutely fine as Indian govt wants to increase production of parts in India itself.
When likes of Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo etc are making PCBs in India, what is stopping Xiaomi from doing the same ? They are just making excuses.
It's the high taxes on imported goods which made possible that all manufacturers are doing assembly now in India. Now it's time they localize their parts sourcing too.

Xiaomi really sucks. Already we all got irritated because of stupid flash sale and pre order (still pre ordered on april 13th has not yet dispatched). Now increasing price definitely make us not to buy redmi note 5 pro. We all will go with asus zenfone max pro m1.
