I have had a g2,g4 and now a g5 and I can say that you do notice a difference but on stuff like space wallpapers stars something like that or images with a lot of dots or detail ... but other than that you wont notice a difference
we need is but more vivid colors and deeper blacks ... 4k only works for VR and not everybody use oculus or cardboard or anything like that and if you use it it is just for a while at home because when you go outside you have the phone in your pocket ...

Well, the thing that they could do in order to be ahead of Samsung in some way is to include a 4K HDR screen like Sony's Xperia Premium devices have.
Seriously, there's no such content made in that resolution.
Look at the video resolution settings on high end digital cameras; you can record in HD 720p, FHD 1080p, and UHD 2160p. Where's QHD 1440p?
And the difference between that and 1080p is negligible, it's not even worth having one. At least 4K does make some noticeable differences that can be seen even by just looking at it directly, even after using a 1080p or 1440p screen for a very long time.
It's 2018 already, not 2016.
It's about time that 4K becomes a mainstream standard for giant flagships from this day onward.
I hate it when Chinese brands copy the iPhone X notch and lack of headphone jack, but not the stereo speakers and IP67 rating.
I hate it when they copy the FaceID (which is far inferior on other devices with nothing but a camera) but not the wireless charging of it.

They waited till now, since now they could buy a 845 batch for the g7 I guess. I also read they they use LCD and 3k battery etc to lower the costs. Should cost less then G6 last year. I guess V serie is their flagship line and G serie is moving into midrange line.

Yes the delay of this phone looks like a total anti climax. hope im wrong as i do like LG phones. Totally under rated company for mobiles over shadowed by its neighbour.

Let them release it. Extra bass with mono speaker, f1.5 aperture but with 1µm that make it useless, same problems in details and low light, 3D 4DAC for charge you >$900 or $1000 when you usally use earbuds not headphones. I'm curious about how much they'll ask for it, and how bad the hide feature of the notch will be in low light, is an LCD display not OLED, and the battery life too.

Actually , I will admit, it hides the notch pretty well, but maybe thats because of the image quality. I don't care how the back looks cause I won't be looking at it 99% of the time. Will wait to see reviews on the screen, care more about how dark it can get for night readings, in which oled usually destroys lcd.

I'm clearly in a minority, but I like the look. Only downside, are the battery, and a potentially mediocre front and rear camera. Seriously, what are they thinking with that battery?

Phone as made for audiophiles. Hopefully they hide more treats, but this sure is tasty.
another are - better bass output, audio jack, screen with 1,000 nits in manual set, f1.5 aperture.

hmmmmm? the back looks like plastic which is weird because the DUAL GLASS sandwich was made to make the phone look SHINY and PREMIUM and this falled to deliver it's purpose
the problem is that glasss back HIGHLY decreases the durability so if it can't make it more beautiful than what is the use for it? and how does it meets with the military standards ?
oh I forgot it only past 14 of the 25 tests :P
other things I am concerned about are the battery life 3k only? for a 6.1 inches "LCD" screen? can't you give an OLED screen for your flagship?
the hide notch won't work it this screen since it won't save any battery BUT it still protect against haters ;)
how does all ways on display work on this screen ?

No other OEM has quad DAC, and less and less come with the headphone jack. The G7 is also to come with boom box speakers and DTS surround. Sure, LG doesn't do everything correctly (no OEM does), but you can't just brush away their efforts without acknowledging the positive aspects of their phones first.

I am sure that it feel feature som... moreTheir displays are meh (and prone to horrendous IR for IPS ones - happened in every single one of their flagship phones), the software skin is meh, camera has been mediocre since the G4 and its niche of wide-shots isn't unique anymore as other phones can do that as well, it starts with 4gb of ram, etc. and it's still SUPER EXPENSIVE.
What's their differentiating feature? Mediocrity? Pass.
For camera, P20 Pro/Pixel 2 XL, way better. For value, stuff like Asus 5z & Mi Mix 2s is better. For pure performance Sony XZ2 Premium is a behemoth.
