Alternatively, you can let the customers voice out that they are starting to believe in xiaomi products on social media etc. this approach will drive costs down (maintaining their price point). That said, from 25% to 50% wont do a whole lot if customers from that region hasnt shown "enough" interest
I feel xiaomi needs to strengthen its appeal of its products and its ecosystem (software algorithms, camera compression, rendering and the likes).
As a current user, essential tools like the camera and mic/speaker on xiaomi phones have not been up to mark. Mind you these are factors that appeals to the new generation (snapchat, facetime/skype, insta/fb, video taking for snap/fb/insta) and this will ruin one's entire experience of a phone
"not being able to comfortably do the basic things all of my other friends are doing"
Build a great product, the market will sort itself out in a matter of time
20% global expansion 35% AI 20% IoT 25% R&D
spending the MOST on AI of course, because none of us have even seen the horizon of artificial intelligence and its potential (its limitless). And you wouldnt want to be behind on ai when the train arrives

keep the company for completely own self. If the owner doesn't want his company be taken control by others. silly to have shares of such type of company. Sad to see HK at last accept such type of stock listing.

Xiaomi products are really great for the price.
I was about to buy the Huawei Mate 10 Lite or Huawei Honor 7x because I thought they were the best budget smartphones below $200.
Then fate led me to discover this Redmi 5 Plus from Xiaomi. I read all of their specs and even tried to compare them on this site, and I liked the Redmi 5 Plus' specs the most, and here in the Philippines, it's by far the cheapest among the three.
Now I'm using this phone to type this comment and I have been very happy for the last 2 weeks of using this phone.
Probably my only issue would be the weak microphone quality, but that has to do with Xiaomi's software for noise cancellation, which eliminates too much noise that the recorded audio has a lot of compression artifacts and audio signals that got cancelled out too much due to very aggressive noise cancellation.
Hopefully they'd release an update to fix this issue, but other than that, this phone is keeping me impressed.
If I didn't buy this phone, I'd probably miss out a lot of great things about this, like the long battery life, IR Blaster (very rare nowadays), great balance of performance and efficiency (the SD625 even has better graphics than the Kirin 659), and even 4K video recording capability (name another non-Xiaomi phone that can do it that was released around the time this phone was released, I bet you can find one).
given the amazing value per money Xiaomi products offer, they should give 50% for global expansion (at least in EU initially given the problems in expanding in the US). then 25% for AI and IoT and 25% for R&D.
If they don't show the world the achievements they have accomplished until now (in android tv, smartphones and IoT products), there is no meaning in developing new tech if it hasn't the adequate logistics in the world.
Xiaomi will be really successful this year cause it has so many positive business reports. I wonder if Samsung is watching their heels to put them down or what.
