Do people really buy phones based on ”performance tests” which never tell the real story?

Is it really cheating tho?, it's still using the available processing power, not like it's making it think it's faster, if the phone can hit a certain score who cares if it's set to max, i like to see what my electronics are capable of and having them run at 100% is the best way to do it, u wouldn't run a benchmark in power saver mode would you? No you run it in 100% performance mode

The only people who would cringe at this news is the people who set too much store in benchmarks. Personally, I don't care if a phone is cheating on benchmarks or not, as long as it provides good user experience. Benchmarks nowadays are just for bragging who has the fastest phone, nothing more.

Shanti Dope, 03 May 2018If there's one horrible subsidiary BBK Electronics has, it's no other than Oppo. Vivo at leas... moreThe best bang-for-buck flagship Android phone available next month will be the Zenfone 5z, with only an expected difference in price between the cheapest OP 6 and the 5z of $26 with a lot better features. At least, till the Mi 7 arrives if it comes with B20 now Xiaomi is expanding worldwide.

I personally don't care much about benchmarks any more... I'm not in school and what is needed is running on each mid to high end processor.. It thy "boost" to get few points extra, why would we care? It is "fishy", but the world will remain round and that is what matters :))

Look how quick this was caught. And people really think Huawei and ZTE are hiding spyware on their phones that HASN'T been found yet?

But seriously this is a regular issue with Oppo and OnePlus... do they really think they're going to get away with this? Plus it's got a budget phone with a MT processor. When was the last time customers buying those phones cared about anything outside of the price and pretty color on the back?

It's horrible! Plus, Oppo's build quality is lower than Huawei's. To add insult injury, this is the first time I have ever see Oppo cheating on benchmarks! I mean I saw OnePlus' before, BKK is really into this game of misleading the market of its own.

                        What a shame. >:/

Vivo at least showcases some very innovative prototypes on their phones like the Vivo Apex and Vivo X20 UD.
OnePlus holds true for the best bang-for-buck flagship Android phone.

Well, Cortex A73 use about 10% higher frequency on P60 (Kryo 260 are cortex A73+A53), and CPU score is about 10% higher...what is strange??

If he finds that Oppo F7's score is strange, he should think that Redmi Note 5's score strange too!!!
