Why when I save to sd card then delete from phone is the pic gone from ad card as well. Isn't that the point of the card, to free up phone space ? What am I doing wrong?
Karriope, 06 May 2018They're also meant, for, maybe, people with dashcams, instead of for phones.Exactly
AnonD-244086, 04 May 2018These are outdated they should make 1tb phone for movie pirates blurayThey're also meant, for, maybe, people with dashcams, instead of for phones.
Phone becomes Laptop, 04 May 2018Manufacture phones with at least 1TB (approx. 1000GB) or 2TB INTERNAL MEMORY.........And make ... moreonly invalid if a user never wants to, say, pull out the storage and put it somewhere else from time to time... or, if, say, phones never brick themselves.
Only 30 megs write? That's too slow. When is Sammy making a 256GB Pro plus micro SD card? I have 128GB Pro Plus and it's amazing. Gives me 70MB/s write on A1 SD bench even after using it for 2 years. And oh, I'm using exfat, that probably gives the improved write speeds.

also you have to remember most dash cams (esp cheaper ones) usually top out at 32GB for max size allowed.
Always check you max card size before buying
Anonymous, 04 May 2018128GB is past. Make 256GB and 512GB.What do even want to record with that much memory? it is just for car dash cam.
I thought this article will mention the lifespan of different NAND type flash memories, that I was talking about in the comment section at another article.
Most SD cards have TLC NAND which has short lifespan and are unreliable. But for example the Transcend Ultimate 633x has MLC NAND and Error Correcting Code (ECC).

I'm curious what NAND type does this Samsung Pro Endurance have.
128GB is past. Make 256GB and 512GB.
abc.to.xyz, 04 May 2018Slightly overpriced ones, but considering that Samsung has made them its expected. But agai... moreI think its good for car cameras.. Where cards have to survive temperature extremes..
How about the I/O though?
Just a heads up, the Samsung EVO+ cards (their current flagship) is a very high performing and durable card. And it is fairly priced (slightly above the regular SanDisk cards).
These have very little error rate, so people do like to use them for DashCam's. However, Samsung says if you do they void your warranty, and if you plea to have them fixed they look at on a case-by-case basis.
That's why people often recommend the Transcend Endurance cards instead, but these cards are quite dear. The new line of cards (PRO Endurance) that Samsung's introducing here are meant to be direct competitors to the Transcend Endurance cards, for the BOOMING dashcam market, and hopefully this will mean cheaper prices for consumers.

But again, why do we need endurance among memory cards? I've hardly seen any going down. I got mine 3 years old.
Finally there is a fairly solid solution to keep recorded videos for a year without using much space.
All of them for a year of recording will be equal to Two of current HDDs in size to be keep.
Zenodroid, 03 May 2018To slow for ufs 2.1. But probably good enough for low end phones. This is not really for mobile, more for IP Cams
Good to hear. The prices don't seem to be too unreasonable either.
