I can't help but wonder if the stories or news here are accurate... This post says that iPhone X was the top-selling smartphone in Q1 but there's another news released on April 25 that says iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus sold better than iPhone X in Q1...

AnonD-757017, 05 May 2018Read carefully, there is a big diference between "shipped" and " selled".No, it's not big difference. None of smart stores will make a big stock of very expensive phone, since most probably you can't return the phone to Apple (most of big companies are not taking back stock).

AnonD-1825, 04 May 2018"As for Android users, we mostly compare the hell out the phone, specs, prices etc before we a... moreI think, to simplified whole the comment into one word which is "hesitation ". Yes, people who compare specs, or anything similar are actually the minority in smartphone market. Only people like US who read from tech site would most likely do such ( or maybe even the people who a little more about smartphone would do it too).
The majority of smartphone users won't, and the majority of smartphone users does hesitate to buy expansive Android when it comes to getting a new one.
Even if we have so many choices from cheap to super expensive. People simply doesn't do the same for Android but many of them does for a iPhone.

Asians are the obvious one. ( I'm a Chinese and I can say it for many Chinese too, as many many people that I know or see are pretty much end up buying a iPhone instead of Android.) I mean, it is pretty much the same thing, they're gonna use the same apps, and do the same thing with their phones. But, because they don't know much about smartphone ( or at least not like us the people who come to a tech site read about stuff so that we can know a little bit more), so these people ( the majority of regular smartphone users) are most likely buy a iPhone whenever budget is OK.

I'm not gonna say all of us like that, but giving a chance to pick a free smartphone between a iPhone and a high end Android from one's choice. Most people would have pick iPhone.

I don't understand one thing - if iPhone X is not good / overrated / hyped and all that which it's haters claim, then why is it that many of the Android phone makers want to replicate the iPhone X looks?
LG, One+ ( with it's siblings OPPO VIVO), Asus etc have released the handsets which are more or less iPhone X replica.
Can any iPhone haters explain it?

I have been a big fan of Blackberry, so my comment has nothing to do with my love for Apple.

Price in Philippines is 65,000 pesos above ($1150).
Still overpriced. IDK why people love this phone so much. Maybe because of the Notch!?

                                GSMArena, regarding your last sentence:
"However, if the trend continues, Strategy Analytics think the Galaxy S9+ will take the crown the following quarter as iPhone X's sales are expected to lose some steam."

That is not what Strategy Analytics is saying. They say:

"We expect the S9 Plus to become the best-selling Android smartphone globally in the second quarter of 2018."

Notice the best-selling _Android_ smartphone, not best selling smartphone :)

Apple has shipped the whopping 16 million units... i think there is a big difference between "shipped" and actually "sold" units. People should be aware about it, since can be quite misleading. And just in case i use an iPhone 7 which like a lot.

I do not consider the iPhone X as a smartphone, rather a rich packed feature phone with some extra functionalities to mimic a smartphone.
