So, i do not know who is copying who, but for sure your beloved 1200£ peace of crapp did not came out first with that ugly look. Actually Essencial looks better.

LG claims to have done it first ,since they didn't have any 'creative' excuse to explain the notch.

Having a notch to the screen is inevitable if makers want to push the bezelless future, unless they can hide sensors, etc. under the screen, so it's not a thing that Essential/Apple invented or something. But LG, trying to claim as the first(or atleast first to Apple) to think of having a notch is ridiculous. As I said, it's an inevitable path to a bezelless future, whether it's good or bad, it's not a revolution to the smartphone world, it's safe to assume that most of the makers had a thought of it, before Essential and Apple released their notched phones.
