Another nail in the coffin for nokia. Meego seems pointless anyway, it cant keep up with Android and apple.

    I really hope the rumors aren't true.
    meego is promising
    maybe not for phones (it will never prevail android and ios)
    but for netbooks and IVI it's impressive.
    plus, it's a great contribution to open source in general (clutter non-root x-server etc' for the linux users)

      Nokia need microsoft money, Google is not interested on Nokia, the have Samsung and they just buy Motorola Mobile, so Nokia for them is not longer desired...

              Intel is still working on Meego and Asus is about a release a new netbook running Meego.

If you remember, there were tablets before the iPad too.. But with stylus only UIs and clunky transitions, they had no polish, no joy.. Then iPad arrived and not only muscled its way into the tablet niche but also widened it... Since then, other manufacturers have been following Apple...

                      Nokia didn't need Microsoft. Their phones with Android would sell like a hotcakes. On other hand, Microsoft needs Nokia in order to promote and push to custoers its weak OS. So from any angle, Nokia&Microsoft collaboration is a loss for Nokia and win for Microsoft.
