Zenodroid, 08 May 2018Then why was mate 10 pro the first who used it? Hmm. Nah, Huawei was the first to make a phone... moreIt is possible for 2 different persons in complete isolation with each other, to come up with same idea/product/solution. Yet, the second one to do so would not be copying the first one, as existence of one didn't impact/influence the other. In case of copying, something that is copied would not exist, if you take the original out of the equation, which is not true here. Because of built in hardware support Nokia 7 Plus would have had Dual VoLTE, with or without Huawei Mate 10 Pro having it. This is a case of parallel adoption & implementation, not copying.

Nah, Huawei was the first to make a phone with dual volte. End of story. That sd didn't put it in any phone before Huawei, that's their problem. Still doesn't change the fact that Huawei was the first phone with dual volte. And because of that, the others are copying. No matter how much you try, mate 10 pro was the first phone using the technology.

The answer is yes, because hardware support in the form of Snapdragon 660 would still have been there. Since Nokia 7 Plus would have had the feature regardless of Huawei, the former didn't copy the latter.

Zenodroid, 07 May 2018What phone is the x30? You very well know that Mediatek Helio X30 is a SoC and not a phone. Dual VoLTE is a feature of the chipset, and different OEMs implementing the feature are doing so independently, and not copying each other. The same way different phones with QuickCharge support are not copying the first one to do so.

Mediatek Helio X30 was the first SoC with support for Dual VoLTE, and this generic feature is bound to become standard, regardless of first OEM implementation. That's akin to saying, every OEM with 4G phones copied HTC Evo. Convergence is often confused with copying.

A lot of phones was with dual sim and could have dual volte cards in it, but not use volte on both sim at the same time. So, since Huawei started that option, everyone else is copying them.

A lot of people don't get it, but everyone is copying someone. And I'm just pointing out how stupid it seems when we try that copy war. Everyone does it.

I would say I'm excited, but dual SIM version is not available in my market.

And....oh wait yes....this is still stuck on android 8.0 with Feb security!!!!!!

Despite HMD's promise of always secure and up to date, and despite being part of the Android One programme, it seems we have to wait for an update.

In the mean time the sheer amount of bugs in the firmware this device shipped with is truly astounding.

And what does HMD'S customer support have to say when asked about software updates to fix these issues.....'be patient'....that's right!

Not impressed with HMD right now.
