Is anybody going to tell when 8.1 is released for Moto X4 standard version which is launch in India. Moto sucks in updates

Android 8.1 applied OK to my Moto X4. But Android Auto & Waze will no longer hook up to my cars monitor. Lots of complaints about that, but nothing being done to fix it.

What the heck is "the standard version of the Android One Moto X4"? The only way the Android One Moto X4 can be purchased new is through Project Fi. Even the "Buy now" button on the Motorola website links to Project Fi. There are non-Android One Moto X4s but they are still on 8.0.
