Huh. People complaining about iPhone X replaced the home button for gesture controls, now Android P is following their steps and no one gives a s***
AnonD-674280, 13 May 2018Yeah even this year phones will get mostly droid 7.1.2 on them whith pretty much no hope for g... moreIt's true, one example is many local OEMs in Indonesia still launch phones with Nougat in 2018. And I'm very sure they won't be updated. Ah well, they are sub $200 or so phones, it's not uncommon.
Don't like the new notification shade icons designs. Too kiddy imo. Still prefer the current design. How I wish the screen brightness slider will be available on the first pull instead of second.
For me, Android P is hot. However, I don't really like the new gestures. It's confusing. I'd rather use the good ol' buttons.
How can it be hot? Gestures on MIUI works better and is well designed
5T, 13 May 2018Search for Project Treble and you'll wanna stick to Android from now on :)Oh please Project Treble not going to help.
Most oem don't make money even lg is in loss, average android price is around $250. They didn't have any resource to provide updates unless google gonna help them.and also releasing new version of os is waste of time.
Samsung experience users will note that it isn't anything extraordinary. Not hot at all (more like lukewarm) but as always, os updates are welcome improvements.
Yes, hot, loving it on my Pixel 2 XL. Very polished for a first public release beta, much more so than in previous years.

Anonymous, 13 May 2018Is there any blue screen filter? Yes, and there has been for a couple of years.
Might be hot, if they add full screen and better implemented gestures. Revert to old volume controls etc.
New Android version is allways hot!
Nobody want to touch it even in one year of its release day ;)
In two three years it is not so hot, so it may get 10-20% market share compared to new and hot versions that have 1-5% market share.
Prometheous, 13 May 2018You don't want a white wallpaper. You don't like a dark one. What do you want Google to do then?To have a dark(er) background for app drawer and notification quick toggles. What is so hard to understand? I never said I want a plain white wallpaper, but perhaps one that is too light for google to automatically turn things dark.
Ran this on my Pixel 2 XL for a few days and it was amazing! The beta actually felt somewhat close to release software by some black magic!

5T, 13 May 2018Search for Project Treble and you'll wanna stick to Android from now on :)True, but the fact that I haven't seen on much devices on which project treble has been worked on is concerning itself(correct me if i am wrong) i did heard that oneplus was working treble on op6, pixel 2 and 2xl,a lot of Huawei devices(well done huawei), redmi note 5 pro, essential, razor, there is no samsung, LG, Sony yet(surprised by this one), i have a feeling all future xiaomi, huawei will support treble for all budget to flagship devices but some main stream companies haven't started yet, also hoping my op3T gets unofficial treble support (which it won't :/) and companies like samsung LG also start supporting it(maybe having new versions of Android overlayed with older outer experience ui or whatever )
Anonymous, 13 May 2018Android P is good but when will i get it?! I dont like currently the pixel 2 and it takes a ye... moreLol if you are surprised, but android big updates are yearly, just like iOs, why you are so surprised? You used your oreo for few months, and in few months there is new update so yeah, 1 year. You can ignore these beta releases as they are just beta. All other phones will be able to access it since official release. And hope that your oem gonna bring it asap :) or just install custom rom which is more better... As custom roms are stable enough just like stock, but with extra tweaks and features which google do not want to add.
Anonymous, 13 May 2018Who cares?.......new android is for next year phones....we will not get it anyway.....Yeah even this year phones will get mostly droid 7.1.2 on them whith pretty much no hope for getting 8 on them or will get 8 when the 9 is already out.
YoloBS, 13 May 2018Gimmick only gimmick. Google should do something like windows 10. Whats the point of Releasi... moreSearch for Project Treble and you'll wanna stick to Android from now on :)
