On the Droid phones it doesn't matter if you have a manual home button. I had one for a couple weeks and the keyboard would display and lock-up when there was an in-coming phone call so that you couldn't get at the answer icon no matter what you did. It occurred after having using a voice text entry. It even happened when the techs at the Verizon factory store tried it so they gave me another. It also did the same thing so they just gave me a credit for another phone and I went back to using my old LG Chocolate.

Obviously if the phone has completely locked up it doesn't matter what hardware keys it has! If it has a hardware key to always get me back to the home screen then I am not concerned as I will be able to run up a task manager and kill a full screen app that has crashed.

And you can press the home button and kill the app ,what you are saying there it's because your whole phone freezes ,and you have no way to use the hardware buttons in that case either !!
I have heard that it is possible it will have no hardware buttons. I'm afraid I have a major issue with that. Should a full screen application crash you will have no option but to pull the battery as there will be no way to get to the home screen and get up a task manager to kill it.
I m sure one thing...why sammy is not releasing this phone spects....???why u know they are confused with what they will name their screen in prime...."super amoled plus hd"....let me give some advice u cane name it "sap hd" hmmm good name next year sg3 will have "sap fhd" or "sap full hd" and in november -dec another screen will born "sap fhd 3D" ...huh!!!

EdB, 09 Sep 2011Unless Sammie advertises the hell out of this phone, it won't rival the iPhone in sales. Aside... moreAGAIN !!!! : THIS PHONE IS A DEVELOPER'S DEVICE ,it started out as being sold only for a specific purpose [that's why many human beings do not know of it's existence ,iphone 4-ish.. whatever, is a mass-market phone ,you CANNOT put them both in the same place ,don't be stupid and Google-IT before you comment !

"The device itself will be very thin - 8.8mm".
i believe many of us prefer bigger capacity battery and thicker than a very thin design but low capacity battery
Anonymous, 08 Sep 2011Hello everyone What is this phone in this: http://media.corning.com/flash/corporate/2010/gori... moreIts of course an android phone but from its look i think its an HTC maybe Samsung or Motorola anyway here is a link for phones with Gorilla glass display http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/products-with-gorilla/full-products-list
Loving the specs of the new Nexus so far and can't w8 for it to come out. I just hope it turns out to be a sexy looking device as well. But second on my wish list is the sweet-sexy looking HTC Ruby/Amaze 4G. Hope HTC will just decide to release it with pure ICS or upgrade it quickly to ICS in a month or two. I may decide to get both...

LOL do you even realise that many ppl who owned iphone4 are tired of waiting for the nonexistent iphone 5 and already switched to samsung galaxy s2? and a lot of people heard of nexus; since when did you represent all of the consumers? do you think people just mindlessly pick iphone before even looking at all the other phones at the stores?
think before you post
Unless Sammie advertises the hell out of this phone, it won't rival the iPhone in sales. Aside from tech geeks, the average person have never heard of a Nexus. Between the Nexus, Note, G2S and HTC Sensation 2, most folks will be too confused w/ Android and on overload, so they'll go with the iPhone - a phone they know is high end.
