My past phone was a Pixel 2. Well, I can't even compare it to a Pixel phone camera. XZ1C camera is slow, lack details. Slow motion video is useless unless shot in very well lit condition. Plus vibration motor of ALL XZ1C are defective/too strong. Don't need to take my words, just such in google or in xda.

Anonymous, 17 May 2018lmao xperia doesn't support camera2 APILol man, camera2 api gets included with Android Oreo OS.
Whether the OEM likes it or not, it gets enabled anyway.
Even if it isn't, there are so many working tutorials to enable it.

Don't forget that discount applies to US models without fingerprint scanner. So I don't think it's a good deal unless you don't need a fingerprint scanner at all.

I tried Google Camera, but it can take pictures only at 8.3MP, that would be fine for me, which means less details, less sharpness. I'll try Gcam and also XZ2's apk if available.

Both instances they tried to pin the blame on my friends, despite no outside physical damage. They had to file FTC reports to get a proper resolution.

Google camera's so good, it can turn the crappiest camera phones (i.e. OnePlus 5T, Nokia 8, Mi Mix 2/2s, etc.) Into a competent shooter with flagship grade quality.

Xperias are built with precise quality that requires absolutely no service support for the long run.
And in case you are wondering how that quality is, the old Xperia Z from 2012 is just as durable as most modern day flagship phones, with glass sandwich and IP rating, heck even has dual front-facing stereo speakers too!

Battery life is AMAZING. Camera is awful, frustrating & straight out garbage sometimes. Yeah other than the "Camera", its a great phone. Galaxy S7's camera is better than this, trust me! I'm bought it because of its size and great battery. Today, I left house for work with 49%, came home after 9 hours with 33%!! Last weekend, I left home to go somewhere with 100% drove for more than 2 hours, while using the phone for navigation and came back home with 70%! Battery is that good!
