Actually processors with more cores should theoritically be able to deliver more battery life than single core ones. Just google that. Dont make assumptions based on little to no knowledge.

this time around MS is aiming for long term, where PC business will slow down and Smartphone+Tablet will take off. This is not a backyard game to outsell Apple-i devices.

what about the power it will consume? win7 (for desktop) does not excel in power management; how well is wp7 doing? (more cores -> more power consumed ...)

This is fantastic! WP7 is taking the right steps, but a lot of work still needs to be done. It is my opinion that WP7 poses a credible threat to android, who are facing problems of their own at the moment.

I for one hope that MS will stay in sub 10% in smartphone market share!
                          Why?
Because they are dominant in desktop OS market share!
They had enough fun, it's time for others to grab some attention.

Quick Nvidia you better get in on the ever shrinking WP7 market, might be at 0.0000001% by the time you have a chip that will work on it. Makes great business sense...NOT

Witness the power of Microsoft.. To kill Meego in single bound as well as get their own dedicated Tegra platform.. Money really does make the world go round and round...

not a good idea at all. They should use one CPU chipset to develop their contents faster and better quality.
Giving Windows OS for many CPU manufacturers is not good especially when they are short of apps.
I would recommend HummingBird Chipset from Samsung as the current
Nexus Series has built in with it and has pretty good performance. More importantly, Windows OS developers will be able to change Android Format Apps to WIndows OS a bit better

If they do that this will be a BOOST to WP7 CPUs and there will be a plenty of options for WP7 users.

Good now looks more promising the future for Microsoft OS.
