Anonymous, 22 May 2018All's well if it ends well. Way to go Mr. President.Funny to read those comment like he done it for a sake of good heart. Can't you read people? Tarrifs been lifter for USA agricultural tariffs in Beijing, did you really think he give a shit about ZTE or China, naive people :D
USA won from this a lot, so ZTE could survive, well it is ZTE fault in first place anyway
I see what Trump was after...as usual you can never beat a businessman. He knows what he os doing!
Anonymous, 22 May 2018So - what was wrong with using the Exynos CPU? Samsung offered to sell it to ZTE.Who's to say they won't still go that route. Eventually.
Problem is, Samsung said it would take until 2019 to get that deal finalized and rolling. That's a long time to go dead in the water without a solution.
Plus it doesn't account for the other US companies they'd be banned from dealing with, including Google. No more certification from Google means no more Google services even though they could still use Android. That's even more painful to deal with in the global market that cutting off their supply of Qualcom processors.
This is good news though.

Anonymous, 22 May 2018My first thought at Donald Trumps 1 billion deficit budget was that it was crazy and he really... moreYou put so much credit to him. The billion fine happened before he was president lol.
Anonymous, 22 May 2018Look at the dow Jones market. Unemployment rate. US currency. Donald trump has done a fantasti... moreDo not only see unemployment rate, US currency rate and market index. All look good at this time. How about trade deficit with China and other Asian and EU countries?
If deficit keep continue, that mean US people working hard and earn a lot of money but give the money to other nations. Finally end up selling US bond (owe to other nation).
So now what happens to Huawei in the US? Will they be sold by a US carrier? Will they be sold at Best Buy again?
Kangal, 22 May 2018Agreed.
ZTE are going to pay a huge fine to USA. And China is going to help USA economically ... moreMy first thought at Donald Trumps 1 billion deficit budget was that it was crazy and he really didn't give a damn about blowing others money but then he really did make it back with these chinese deals. Idiots won't be able to get past their own prejudgements and hate. He's basically managed to spend a billion on the economy, make it back in one quick fine and then producing further results with the chinese deal.
Donald trump really was a storm in a tea cup, he doesn't have the influence to do all the bigger stuff he wants like the wall and whatnot. He's making some bad decisions but he babies out there who can't accept when he does something right would really do no better with their poor judgement. Economically he's looking pretty decent so far.
Anonymous, 22 May 2018Look at the dow Jones market. Unemployment rate. US currency. Donald trump has done a fantasti... moreAgreed.
ZTE are going to pay a huge fine to USA. And China is going to help USA economically because of this favour. This really is a victory to the USA, and the Trump Administration.
Just as long as they can make certain all those employees and employers are fired and fined for their actions, and that USA gets a choice in electing and overseeing the new managers. Otherwise, ZTE will probably still continue selling American Products on the black market to Iran and North Korea. And if they do that, it means it wasn't a victory and a FAILURE by the Trump Administration.
The key is in the details, people.
Akinaro, 22 May 2018Well if it would be something really, REALLY bad, China could just ask for money that US is in... moreThat will also collapse China in turn. Remember that most of the big American companies manufacture their products in China and most of the labor earn their livelihood from it. Thus it's a two way sword my friend. US is in debt but that's govt not the companies. US companies run China.
Xhxhyy, 22 May 2018Donald Trump and his arogancy politic-wise. He knows that USA needs large sum of money from China. Look at the dow Jones market. Unemployment rate. US currency. Donald trump has done a fantastic job. People today are so against one other.
Donald Trump and his arogancy politic-wise. He knows that USA needs large sum of money from China.
Well if it would be something really, REALLY bad, China could just ask for money that US is in debt to them. Its about $1.18 trillion as of February 2018 data show. Yes, USA is in big debt, and its not so great as Americans citizens thing(but they dont know much, average citizen cant even point out major, most known countries/cities on map... including their own cities...)
OR China could just ban US from any transaction in its country for even week, it would probably colapse most of US transactions :D
But of course its not that bad, none of country would do that for one company like ZTE, but idea that they actually could do that is really hilarious... and terrifying.
US: land of opportunities , is becoming an advantage to many foreigners [ like Chinese, Indians, Paks, Afgans, Koreans, Japnese, list goes on], than to the Americans
One side information technology domination by Indians, Other side the OEMs seeing the rise of Chinese/Asians, and their domination, but America just having nostalgia of their concepts and inventions, rather becoming History. Either way its non-Americans enjoying the goodness of American Society, by using their broadminded attitude
Seems America will become a subsidiary to China, India, or Any such countries
Not good for USA, once a Super Power
One side
AnonD-356176, 22 May 2018So ZTE just bribed their way out of a bribe conviction? LOL Trumps 'Murica.Considering the US and China chose to set the figure on the increased fine this is hardly ZTE haggling out a bribe. They was on the verge of closure and had no real power to sway america so it's more foreign relations between China and USA than bribe. In that regard you could consider it sweeping the thing under the rug still but in return America is going to be getting more concessions out of China than the other way around (regards closing the trade deficit and other investigations that were going on) so it sounds more like USA managed to get China as a country to bribe it into ignoring the criminality and crudeness of the way they steal trade secrets and their patent systems.
All's well if it ends well. Way to go Mr. President.
