The apps are not that great there is only about 35,000 apps compared to the andriods 250,000 and apples 550,000. If you are looking to get this phone for fun/games it isn't the best sure it has Xbox live but it's not as good as it seems. I recommend Android.
i really want to try this Samsung machine. Android system is not stable enough now. So maybe Windows phone's are. is there anyone that knows about windows applications. are they free of charge or not?

I need to argue, 13 Sep 2011I have a Nexus 1 whit android 2.3.4 on a 1Ghz snapdragon. Its run perfectely no lag. I think t... moreexactly, wp7 does not need dual core to run without slag, android does since there is thousands of chances to get your android damage bye a virus or malware since is not protected as wp7 that many people complains but they dont realize that is the same reason iphone is so strong because not everyone can upload an app to damage your phone or course you can if you mess with it too much but we have to realize 90% of smartphones users dont know anything about technology all they want is a huge phone that can get you to play games for free or cheap and gps that you harly use. anyway it is great that samsung still fabricating wp7 devices since samsung focus was the best wp7 last year and still is.
Interesting that NONE of the new wave of Mango phones are dual core - even the new Sammy is single core (although 1.4ghz should be more than sufficient) - problem is, in the age of 2 year contracts, and the fact we've already got dual core phones with a more developed OS (Android) - who's going to go for these?
For a change, I would jump to Win mobile, I enjoy Launcher 7 on Android, but I wouldn't make the move until I'm getting a phone with the same specs or higher than that of an Android one...
I just wonder how many people these phones will convert? I assume that's what M$ is looking for...
I have a Nexus 1 whit android 2.3.4 on a 1Ghz snapdragon. Its run perfectely no lag. I think the problem whit android is the customisation of the oem.
the best phones in line. Now only if they cud market it properly and make world wide vailability this will surely change the competition
christian lim, 12 Sep 2011Ah man I think the windows OS kinda sucks as their OS is not stable enough yet to handle dualc... moreWrong comment mate. WP& on my omnia 7 is much smoother than the galaxy s. WP7 dont need a dual core. And why do you need a dual core if the single core is itself able to handle the OS perfectly??? u cud reduce ur cost of dual core n provide other hardware feature instead when dual core is not necessary.
wow super AMOLED on a 4.3 windows phone 7 device thank you samsung and 1.4ghz single core cpu and dont forget its not the same gpu as with the first gen WP7 devices so we will expect better performance since the gpu is also better
Mindprison, 12 Sep 2011Use any custom version of Android that's properly optimized and it will run smoother than butt... moreI don't like unofficial or aftermarket ROMS, I still like more the ORIGINAL version of the OS than cooked ones, once I find some malicious app in one (with XDA) and they banned me some time just because I find something that was not for my eyes LoL.
Anyway this open my eyes in no trust in cooked ROMS or unofficial ROMS anyone...call me paranoid but I handle very valuable info that I don't like been traced or followed by hidden Trojans in my apps. Like the ones I found.

christian lim, 12 Sep 2011Ah man I think the windows OS kinda sucks as their OS is not stable enough yet to handle dualc... moreWp7 is limited to a very small number of cpus because ms doesnt want to make it fragmented..which is the biggest problem with android..
Dada, 12 Sep 2011Focus S and Focus Flash..!! Are they dumb..or running out of names..??@Dada...How is using the Focus moniker any different than using the Galaxy moniker?
Anonymous, 12 Sep 2011Ms Employees at full rageWhat does that mean?

You dont need an Dual-Core CPU in order to run the OS smoothly.
If you have an 1GHz Single-Core CPU then your fine.
I have an HTC Glacier and it runs like butter, now that it runs CM7 its even FASTER.
Check your facts FOOL.
